Octopussy

ctopussy isa quick, easy catnip-filled treat for your favourite feline companion. These little octopi are great for using up left over scraps of yarn. I've used Wandering Cat Yarns Top Cat sock yarn, but any weight can be used, just adjust your needle size accordingly. Happy knitting, alerie
Materials
Abbreviations and stitches
A small amount of fingering weight yarn Set of2 mm DPNS Darning needle Safety eyes, if desired Poly-fill stuffing Cat nip K =Knit K2tog = Knit two stitches together KFB = Knit in front and back of stitch
Pattern
Cast on 5 stitches Divide across four needles and join in the round, be ing careful not to twist Round 1: Knit Round 2: KFB around (10 st) Round 3: Knit Round 4: K1, KFB around (20 st) Round 5: Knit Round 6: K2, KFB around (30 st) Round 7: Knit Round 8: K2, KFB around (40 st) Work 15 rounds in stocking stitch Next round: K3, K2tog to end (32 st) Next round: Knit Next round: K2, K2tog to end(24 st) Next round: knit
Make tentacles
Working only 3 stitches at a time, make an i-cord 15 rows long. Bind off Repeat seven more times.
Make up
Tie in ends on i-cord tentacles Snap in safety eyes. Stuff with poly-fill and cat nip. Sew bottom closed so no stuffing escapes. Tie in final end Give to your favourite furry friend!
