Cast on 41 stitches. Work 4 ridges garter stitch. For the remainder of the washcloth, keep the first four and last four stitches in garter stitch. When working the first row of the lace pattern, place a marker after the first four and before the last four to remind you to always knit those stitches in garter stitch. Even rows are not charted. These are always purled. Following the chart, work lace pattern four times, ending on Row 11. Work 4 ridges garter stitch. Bind off loosely but evenly on the wrong side.
