Sprouting Dish Cloth

Materials:
Sugar'n Cream - Worsted Weight Cotton in approx 40g. If using 2 colours approx 5g B required. 4.5mm needles Gauge: as this is a dish cloth gauge is not essential, just ensure your fabric is neither too stiff nor too loose. Note: when slipping a stitch (sl1), slip as if to purl with the yarn held on the wrong side of thework. Cast on 41 sts. Bottom Border: With A knit 4 rows. Row 1: (right side) with A knit. Row 2: (wrong side) with A purl. Row 3: with B, k2, \*sl 1, k1: rep from \* to last st, k1. Row 4: with B, K1, \*(k1, sl1) twice, p1, sl 1; rep from \* last 4 sts, k1, sl 1, k2. Rows 5 & 7: With A, k5, \*sl 1, k5;, rep from \* to end. Rows 6 & 8: With A, p5, \*sl 1, p5; rep from \* to end. Rows 9 & 10: With A, repeat rows 1 & 2. Row 11: With B, k1, \*sl 1, k1; rep from \* to end. Row 12: With B, k1, \*sl 1, p1, (sl1, k1) twice; rep from \* to last 4 sts, sl1, p1, sl1, k1. Rows 13 & 15: With A, k2, \*sl 1, k5; rep from \* to last 3 sts, sl1, k2. Rows 14 & 16: With A, p2, \*sl 1, p5; rep from \* to last 3 sts, sl1, p2. Repeat pattern until desired length, ending on either row 16 or row 8. Top Border: With A knit 4 rows. Cast off. Tip: Before working rows 7, 9, 15 and 1, twist yarns B and A so that yarn B travels up the side of the work without leaving long loops.
