Poinsettia Flower Pattern
Any Small Amount of Worsted Weight Yarn


Abbreviations:
Ch = chain Sc = single crochet Hdc = half-double crochet Dc = double crochet Trc = triple crochet Sl st = slip stitch Sc2tog = single chain 2 together Picot = (ch3, join to 1st chain with a sl st) Crochet Hook - Size I (5.5mm)
Flower:
With gold yarn and using the magic loop method, make ring (OR chain 4 and join to form a ring): Round 1: 12 sc in ring. Cut gold yarn. Round 2: With red, in BACK LOOPS ONLY, \*ch4, trc in 1st st. [Trc, ch4, sl st] in 2nd st (petal made), sl st over to next st. Repeat from 5 more times for a total of 6 petals. Join with sl st to beginning st. Round 3: \*4 sc up side of petal, sc2tog, picot, 4sc down other side of petal. Repeat from \* on each petal. Finish off and weave in ends.

Leaf:
With green, ch 7. Sc in 2nd from hook, hdc, dc, hdc, sc, and sl st in last ch. Turn. Along opposite side, sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc, and sl st in beginning st. Leave a 4" tail to sew to the back of the flower. Make as many leaves as desired. Finish off and weave in ends. Pattern by Jennie Claver - Firefly Patterns.
