
Sherlockian Phone Cosy.
To keep your phone safe when chasing baddies through the wintry streets of London. Also useful as Sherlockian stocking stuffers this festive season! Super easy and fun to knit, these phone cosies are knit entirely in the round, using standard colour work techniques.
Materials and gauge:
221 B Wallpaper: 0.25 ball each in grey and black - any 10-ply wool will do. Gauge: 9 sts = 5 cm using 4.5 mm needles Moriarty Skulls: 0.25 ball each in black and cream - any 10-ply wool will do. Gauge: 9 sts = 5 cm using 4.5 mm needles Blogger's Xmas: 0.25 ball each in red, white and navy - any 8-ply wool will do. Gauge: 11 sts = 5 cm using 3.25 mm needles IOU apple: 0.25 ball each in grey, cream and red - any 8-ply wool will do. Gauge: 11 sts = 5 cm using 3.25 needles A set of 4 dpns in 4.5 mm (221 B, Skulls) or 3.25 mm (Blogger's Xmas, IOU apple)
Measurements:
Around 6 cm wide and 11 cm long - fits a standard iPhone or iPod. If other measurements needed, change the gauge and/or add a few rounds of the pattern. With 4.5 mm dpns, and grey, CO 24 sts. Join in the round, making sure not to twist the st Rdl: P all sts. Rd2: start the wallpaper chart. You are working from the top of the chart downwards (you might find it useful to turn the image upside down). When chart is ended, distribute live sts on 2 dpns (12 sts each) Graft the sts together using the Kitchener st. Weave in all ends. Block to measurements.

Moriarty Skulls:
With 4.5 mm dpns and black, CO 24 sts. Join in the round, making sure not to twist the sts. Rdl: P all sts. Rd2: start the skull chart. You are working from the top of the chart downwards (you might find it useful to turn the image upside down). When chart is ended, distribute live sts on 2 dpns (12 sts each) Graft the sts together using the Kitchener st. Weave in all ends. Block to measurements.

Blogger's Xmas: With 3.25 mm dpns and red, CO30 sts. Join in the rd, making sure not to twist sts Rdl: P all sts Rd2: K all sts Rd3: Start the Xmas chart. You are working from the top of the chart downwards (you might find it useful to turn the image upside down). When chart is ended, distribute live sts on 2 dpns (15 sts each) Graft the sts together using the Kitchener st. Weave in all ends. Block to measurements.

I0U Apple:
With 3.25 mm dpns and grey, CO32 sts. Join in the rd, making sure not to twist sts Rdl: P all sts Rd2: (P1, k15) twice. Continue purling the two sts as given for the rest of the pattern. Rd3: Start the IOU chart. You are working from the top of the chart downwards (you might find it useful to turn the image upside down). You need to work the chart twice for each rd. When chart is ended, distribute live sts on 2 dpns (16 sts each) Graft the sts together using the Kitchener st. Weave in all ends. Block to measurements.
