On side of heel flap, pick up and knit 18 sts. Work across instep stitches in stockinette (or in pattern if you prefer). Pick up and knit 18 sts on the other side of the heel flap. Round now starts at the back of the heel/bottom of the foot. Knit to 3 sts before instep, k2tog, k1. Continue instep as desired. On other side of heel flap, k1, ssk, knit to end. K one round. Continue these 2 decrease rounds until desired width for foot. (l decreased to 14 sts and then rearrangedstitchesto16 each on 4 needles.) Work even to 8" or 2" less than desired length for foot. Toe Starting with "needle 1", work to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. "Needle 2" k1, ssk, k to end.

"Needles 3 & 4" work as "needles 1 & 2". Work 1 round even. Repeat these 2 rounds until %2 the stitches are decreased (8 stitches on my sock). Work decreases every round until 16 sts are remaining, 4 sts/needle. Graft toe. Makesecond sock. Copyright @2009 Lorraine Ehrlinger Designs
