
Prim's Scarf by Julia Carlis
Inspired by one skein of stash yarn, a stitchionary find, and Hunger Games-mania, a scarf perfect for a girl from District 12 who wants to add a little decoration to her dreary life.

INSTRUCTIONS
Set up: CO 16 sts using cable cast on. K10, place marker, K6. n: Work Increase section Row 1, slip marker, work edging row 1 Continue, following edging and increase section instructions as established, until 22 repeats of the Edging Chart have been completed. (60 sts) Decrease section: Work decrease section, maintaining Edging as established. Work until there are 6 sts left in the main section, ending after row 6 of the edging. (32 repeats + 6 rows of edging) Work the main section as follows: K3, yo, sl2 tog as if to knit—k1—psso, slip marker, work row 7 of edging chart. Work row 8 of edging chart, slip marker, p2, yo, k2tog, k1. Bind off 5 sts. Remove marker. Slip st on right needle to left needle, k2tog. This is now the first st of edging. Work 7 more rows of the edging chart. Bind off all sts in lieu of working row 8 (34 repeats total).
FINISHING
Break yarn, leaving a 12" tail. Use tail to sew inside of edging to previously bound off sts (edges marked in picture). Sew a button to starting edge in stockinette section (indicated with green x).
