Small amount of WW yarn-I would guesstimate around / oz. CrochethooksizeF Ouchless ponytail holder or length of ribbon-depending on which method of closure you like-see note at end. Note: The white ponytail holders will work best with light colors and black/brown ones will work best for dark colors. Note: Do not use the thin ponytail holder as it may not be strong enough to hold up. Note: If you want one a bit bigger you can go to a size G or H hook. Ch 80, fasten off and weave ch through ch-2 sps of each shell on the last rnd. Note: Alt closure: Do not fasten off after last rnd. Take an ouchless ponytail holder and hold it inside the cover. Working through last rnd of cover and around ponytail holder at the same time, ch 1 and sc into each dc, 2 sc into each ch-2 sp around, join with sl st to 1st sc (yes, the ponytail holder will fit, you'll just have to crowd the sts on it as you go, gently pull on the ponytail holder as you go and you'll see.).Fasten off. I do like this method much better, but if you want to get decorative, you can use ribbon for the tie instead of crocheting one-or just weave some ribbon through the middle shells if you like the ponytail holder better-the possibilities are endless. You may make these to give away or sell, but credit me as the designer and do not sell this free pattern. Pattern ⊙ Julie Hicks, 8/29/2013.
