ch - chain sl st - slip stitch sc - single crochet dc - double crochet FPhdc - front post half double crochet - yo, insert hook from the front side of the work right to left around the post of the stitch directly below on the previous row; yo and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook) yo and draw through all three loops BPhdc - Back post half double crochet - yo, insert hook from the back side of the work right to left around the post of the stitch directly below on the previous row; yo and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook) yo and draw through all three loops FPdc - Front post double crochet dec - decrease/crochet- 2- together in pattern tog - together

Pattern:

Using J/10 - 6.00mm hook and Super bulky yarn Head/body: ch 3, join with a sl st to form a ring. 1. ch 1, 7 sc in ring, join to first st. 2. ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join to first st (14 sc). 3. ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join to first st (28 sc). 4. ch 1, \*7 sc, dec\* repeat around, join to first st (24 sc).

Attach eyes (if using safety eyes)

5. ch 1, 24 sc, join to first st (24 sc) . 6. ch 1, \*sc, dec\* repeat around, join to first st (16 sc). 7. ch, 16 sc, join to first st (16 sc).

Stuff head firmly

8. ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join to first st (32 sc). 9 through 11. ch 1, 32 sc, join to first st (32 sc). 12. ch 1, dec, 30 sc, join to first st (31 sc.) 13. ch 1, 10 sc, dec, 28 sc, join to first st (30 sc). 14. ch 1, 20 sc, dec, 8 sc, join to first st (29 sc). 15. ch 1, \*dec, sc\* repeat around, join to first st (20 sc). 16. ch 1, dec in each st around, join to first st (10 sc).

Stuff body firmly

17.3 sc, dec, 2 sc, dec (7 sc).

Cut yarn and sew bottom closed

Tail:

Using Super bulky yarn

Side 1:

ch 13, sl st, 4 sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, FO.

Side 2:

ch 13, sl st, 4 sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc. Pin side 1 and side 2 tog and sc through both sides all the way around. Sew to back of dino's bottom.

Feet (make 2)

Using Super bulky yarn

ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd st from hook, join to first st. ch 1, 5 sc, join to first st, FO. Sew both to front bottom of dino body. Using Super bulky yarn ch 6, 4 sc, 2 sc in last st, FO. Sew both to top front of body in desired positions.

Embroider facial features if desired

Hat:

With worsted weight and H hook:

1. ch 29, 28 sc, ch 2, turn. 2. 28 dc, ch 2, turn. 3. \*dec, sc\* repeat across, ch 2, turn. 4. \*dec, sc\* repeat across, ch 2, turn. 5. dec across, ch 2, turn. 6. dec across. Hold separate sides of hat tog and sc them tog on wrong side of hat. ch 1, turn hat right side out 7. 28 sc, join to first st. 8. ch 2, 28 dc, join to first st. 9. ch 2, 6 FPdc, 1 FPhdc, ch 2, turn. 10. Skip FPhdc, 6 BPhdc, FO. Sew to dino head, stuffing lightly as you go.
