Little Scallops Hat for Adults

Froken-C's adorable Little Scallops hat for kids (found at: http:/ /frokenc.blogspot.se /2012/11/smavagor.html and on Ravelry: http:/ /www.ravelry.com/projects /mi ssc/little-scallops) translates into a graphic, stylish hat for adults! Use contrasting or monochromatic colors for different effects. Gauge: 5 sts/inch, 7 rows/inch Supplies: Worsted weight yarn in two colors. Model uses Valley Yarns Valley Superwash (1o0% extra fine merino, 98 yards/50 grams) Needle: US 7 (16" circular and dpns for decreasing). Adjust size to reach gauge. Two sizes: S/M, (M / L) Model is S/M, fitting 22" head With color A, Cast on 81 (96) stitches. Join, being careful not to twist. Place marker to indicate start of round. \*K3, P1 \* for 1.5" S/M only: Next round : K2tog, knit to marker. Knit 7 rounds. M/L only: Knit 8 rounds. Follow chart for next 5 rounds.

Continue to knit in stockinette until hat measures 6" from cast on. Decrease as follows: Round 1: \* K6, k2tog\* Round 2 and all even rounds: K Round 3: \* K5, k2tog\* Round 5: \* K4, k2tog\* Round 7: \* K3, k2tog\* Round 9: \* K2, k2tog\* Round 11: \* K, k2tog\* Round 13: \* K2tog\* Leaving long tail, cut yarn, pull through remaining stitches. Weave in ends.
