· Brown Sheep Serendipity Tweed, 60% cotton/40% wool (100g/210 yds per skein): 6 (7, 7, 8, 9, 9) skeins #ST84 Nebraska Wheat · Size 6 (4mm) needles · Size 7 (4.5mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge

GAUGE

24 sts x 26 rows = 4" in Textured pattern with larger needles To save time and ensure proper fit, take time to check gauge.

DESIGNERNOTES

Instructions include 1 selvedge st each side; these sts are not reflected in final measurements.

BACK

With smaller needles, cast 110 (118, 126, 134, 142, 150) sts. Work even in Cabled Rib pat until back measures 5" from beg, ending with a wS row. Change to larger needles. Work even in Textured pat until back measures 14%", ending with a WS row. Make a note of which row of the pattern you are on.

Shape armholes

Bind off 6 (8, 10, 12, 13, 15) sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 2 (3, 4, 4, 5, 6) sts at beg of following 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end every row 4 (2, 1, 2, 1, 1) times, then every other row 4 (5,6, 6,7,7) times-78 (82, 84, 86, 90, 92) sts. Work even until back measures 21% (213, 22, 22%, 23, 23)" from beg, ending with a WS row.

Shape neck

Work 20 (22, 23, 24, 26, 27) sts in established pat, join second ball of yarn and bind off center 38 sts, work to end row. Working on both sides of neck with separate balls of yarn, dec 1 st at each neck edge once-19 (21, 22, 23, 25, 26) sts rem eachside. Work even until back measures 22 (2214, 22%, 23, 23%, 23%)" from beg, ending with a WS row.

Shape shoulders

Bind off 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 9) sts at beg of next 4 rows, then 7 (7, 8, 7, 9, 8) sts at beg of following 2rows.

FRONT

Work as for back until front measures 16% (16%4, 17, 17%, 18, 18)" from beg, endingwithawSrow.

Shape neck

Work 31 (33, 34, 35, 37, 38) sts in established pat, join second ball of yarn and bind off center 16 sts, work to end row. Working on both sides of neck with separate balls of yarn, bind off at each neck edge 4 sts once, 3 sts once, then 2 sts edge once. Work even until front measures same as back to shoulders. Shape shoulders as for back.

SLEEVES

With smaller needles, cast on 54 (54, 54, 60, 60, 60) sts. Work even in Cabled Rib pat until sleeve measures 2%" from beg, ending after Row 4 of pat. Change to larger needles. Working in Textured pat, inc 1 st each end every 4th row 0 (0, 0, 0, 1, 10) times, every 6th row 0 (2, 6, 6, 16, 10) times, every 8th row 5 (11, 8, 8, 0, 0) times, then every 10th row 6 (0, 0, 0, 0, 0) times, working added sts into pat -76 (80, 82, 88, 94, 100) sts. Work even until sleeve measures approx 18%" from beg, ending with the same row as you noted for back and front.

Shape sleeve cap

Bind off 6 (8, 10, 12, 13, 15) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end every other row 8 (11,15, 17,19,18) times, then every row 10 (7, 2, 1, 1, 3) times-28 sts. Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 4 rows. Bind off remaining 16 sts.

NECKBAND

Sew left shoulder seam. With RS facing and smaller needles, pick up and knit 126 sts evenly spaced along neckline. Work even in Cabled Rib pat until neckband measures approx 1%" from beg, ending with Row 3 of pat. Bind off in pat.

ASSEMBLY

Sew right shoulder seam, including side of neckband. Sew in sleeves.Sewsleeveandsideseams.
