
A quick and deceptively simple hat design done in mosaic knitting style, which features one strand of yarn worked at a time while the alternate color yarn is produced in that row by slipping the stitch. As a result, mosaic knitting results in a hat that is lighter and stretchier than one that isstrandknitted.
Size:

Materials:
200 yds of worsted weight yarn for main color (MC) 75 yds of worsted weight yarn for contrasting color (CC) (for prototype: Patons Classic Wool Worsted was used= 150 yards of New Denim and 75 yards of Natural Mix) Gauge: 4.5 stitches=1 inch stockinette
Needles:
S 9 (5.5mm) 14"or 16" circular needle and US 9 (5.5mm) D

Place Markers (one unique one for beginning of row) Tapestryneedle

Mosaic Knitting Notes:
\~the color strand that is used on each particular row is indicated on the color bars along the right side of the graph. Colors are alternated every other row and each color is worked for 1 row. \~the alternating color or the other color that is not indicated on row's color bar, is slip stitched for the entire row instead of knitted. This will result in your alternate color depicted in the design. \~at the start of your new row, to alternate colors, simply drop your current working yarn and pick up the other color. Do not cut your yarn after each row. The yarns will be carried up the sides as yarn strands are alternated.
Pattern:
