Far Pavilions Square: A Charity-Friendly Crochet Pattern for Stashbusting in Various Sizes (6, 10, 12 inches) with Multi-Color Design

This little square is great for stashbusting & for charity work. It's written for 3 sizes using 4 colors, but it's very easy to play with as many colors as you want! Approximately 4-5 grams of color A, 7-10 grams of color B, 15-17 grams for color C, and 20 grams for color D Gauge: After first 3 rounds, square measures 3" across Measurements: Pattern includes directions for 3 sizes: a 6", a 10", & a 12" square. See pattern notes. Abbreviations (pattern uses US terms): ch: chain sp: space sl st: slip stitch sk: skip st: stitch rep: repeat beg ch 3-4: beginning chain 3 or 4 sc: single crochet dc: double crochet Pattern Note: Square is worked in the round, & joined with a slip stitch after each round is finished. For a 6" square, work rounds 1-6 & end off. For a 10" square, work rounds 1-9 & end off. For a 12" square, work all rounds as written.

Pattern:

With color A, ch 4, join with a sl st to form a circle. Round 1: Ch 4 (counts as 1st dc & ch 1 sp, now & throughout), \* dc, ch 1, rep from \* 6 times more. Join with a sl st to 3'd ch of beg ch 4. Round 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining. Ch 1, sc in next dc. \* Ch 3, sc in next dc (1st corner formed), ch 1, sc in next dc. Rep from \* 2 times more, ch 3, join with a sl st to 1st sc. Round 3: Ch 1, sc in 1st ch 1 sp. \* (Dc, ch 1) 4 times in next ch 3 sp, dc once more in same ch 3 sp, sc in next ch 1 sp. Rep from \* 2 times more, (dc, ch 1) 4 times in next ch 3 sp, dc once more in same ch 3 sp, join with a sl st to 1st sc. End off. Round 4: With color B, join with a sl st in same st you ended with. Ch 4, dc in same st. Ch 3, sk 2 dc, \* (dc, ch 4, dc) in next dc, ch 3, sk 2 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next sc, ch 3, sk 2 dc. Rep from \* 2 times more, (dc, ch 4, dc) in next dc, ch 3, join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 4. Round 5: Sl st into 1st ch 1 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc now & throughout), 2 dc in same ch 1 sp. Ch 1, dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, dc in next dc, \* (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch 4 sp. Dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, sk next dc, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp. Ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, dc in next dc. Rep from \* 2 times more, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch 4 sp, dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. Round 6: Ch 3, dc in ea dc & ch sp around, working (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ea corner. Join with a sl st into 3rd ch of beg ch 3. End off second color. Round 7: With color C, join with a sl st in the next st from where you ended the previous round. Ch 4, dc in same st. Ch 3, sk next 4 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, ch 3, [(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp. \* Ch 3, sk next 4 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc. Rep from \* 2 times more, ch 3] three times, sk next 4 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, ch 3, join with a sl st into 3rd ch of beg ch 4. Round 8: Sl st into 1st ch 1 sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same ch 1 sp. Ch 1, dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, dc in next 2 dc. [(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp. Dc in next 2 dc, \* ch 1, dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp. Rep from \* 2 times more, ch 1, dc in ch 3 sp, ch 1] three times, dc in next 2 dc, ch 1, dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, dc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. Round 9: Ch 3, dc in ea dc & ch sp around, working (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ea corner. Join with a sl st into 3rd ch of beg ch 3. End off third color. Round 10: With color D, join with a sl st into any corner sp. Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp. [Dc in next dc, \* ch 3, sk next 4 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc. Rep from \* once more, ch 3, sk next 5 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, ch 3, sk next 5 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, ch 3, sk next 4 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, ch 3, sk next 4 dc, dc in next dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp] three times. Dc in next dc, \* ch 3, sk next 4 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc. Rep from \* once more, ch 3, sk next 5 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, ch 3, sk next 5 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, ch 3, sk next 4 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, ch 3, sk next 4 dc, dc in next dc, join with a sl st to 3'd ch of beg ch 3. Round 11: Ch 1. Sc in ea dc & ch across square, working 3 sc into ea corner & ch 3 sp. End off. Weave in ends, block lightly if desired.
