Materials
One skein of Madelinetosh Tosh DK Size 7 and size 8 needles for knitting in the round. One decorative button Needle for weaving in ends Gauge 5 stiches and 7 rows = 1 inch A simple tutorial can be found here. http:/ /www.youtube.com/watch?v=- nJKC2xT0Q4 Knit flat for two inches in garter stich (K every row) Bind off 4 stitches Join in the round place marker for the beginning of the round if you choose This creates an overlap where you will attach the button at the end. Switch to size 8 needles and knit in stockinette until piece measures 5.5 inches from cast on edge. Begin decrease Row 1 \*K 12 K2tog repeat from \* to end of round Row 2 Knit all stitches Row 3 \*K 11 K2tog repeat from \* to end of round Row 4 Knit all stiches Repeat decreasing every other row in this manner until there are 24 stitches remaining. Then decrease every row in this manner until there are 6 stitches remaining. This will prevent a cone head effect. Cut working yarn about 6 inches from work and thread the remaining stitches onto the end. Pull tight and secure by weaving in the end. Weave in all the ends.
Finishing
Steam block with the overlapping piece onto the outside left front or right if you prefer. Secure the flap by attaching a wonderful button or several if you like, and wear with pleasure.
