Inspired by and designed to wear with the free-spirited, soul-loving style that is Fluevog (www.fluevog.com) Finished Size: One size fits all - cowl can be worn a number of ways, wrapped multiple times and secured with a fashionableclosure Materials: One skein each Rowan Brushed Fleece (105m/115yd/50g) in two complimentary main colors, MC1 andmc2 One skein Katia Love Wool (50m/55yd/100g) in contrasting color, CC (Model shown in Brushed Fleece colors 251 Cove and 160 Nook and Love Wool color 118) One pair U.s. size 15 (straight or circular) and a 10 mm crochet hook Optional JULdesigns (http://www.juldesigns.com) “Mod Loop" leather closures (or similar) Gauge: gauge is not critical to this project Terms: BO: bind off CC: contrast color CO: cast on K: knit K2tog: knit two stitches together MC: main color M1L: make one left (see http://www.twistcollective.com/collection/component/content/article/92- how-to/1046-make-1-left-or-right-m1-m1l-m1r ) P:Purl P2tog: purl two stitches together RS: right side Sll: slip one st purlwise, with the yarn in front SSK: slip1 knitwise, slip1 knitwise, knit slipped sts together through back loop st: stitch wS: wrong side YO: yarn over Instructions: Openworksection: Using MC1 and crochet cast-on method (see http://newstitchaday.com/crochet-cast-on), CO 21 sts. and purl 1 row. row 1 (Rs): (K2tog, YO) to last st, K1. row2 (ws):Purl Repeat rows 1 and 2 until piece measures approximately 17" from cast-on edge, ending with a completed ws row. Continuing with MC2, resume repeating rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 34" from cast-on edge. Do not bind off. Closure section: Continuing from openwork section above, and using CC, knit 1 row Set-uprows: row I (ws): Sll, Kl, Sll, purl to last 3 sts, Sll, K1, Sll. row 2 (RS): K1, Sl1, K1, SSK, K4, K2tog, K5, K2tog, K1, Sl1, K1. (18 sts) row 3 (ws): repeat set-up row 1. Main section rows: row 1 (RS): K1, SI1, K1, SSK, knit to last 3 sts, MIL, K1, SI1, K1. row 2 (ws): Sl1, K1, Sll, purl to last 3 sts, Sl1, K1, Sl1. Repeat last two rows until CC section measures 6" along diagonal side, ending with a completed ws row. Bind off all sts while maintaining the decrease on the right side and the increase on the left side as established. Returning to the cast-on edge and using CC, pick up and knit 21 sts. Complete set-up rows 1-3 as above. Work main section rows as above until CC section measures 3" along diagonal side, ending with a completed ws row. Bind off all sts while maintaining the decrease on the right side and the increase on the left side as established. Weave in all ends and steam block lightly. Wrap copiously around neck, attach optional closure(s), don your favorite Fluevogs and enjoy!
