The Quickie Plastic Bag Holder by Anna Maliszewski

Materials: YARN: Any kind of worsted weight yarn. Yardage: depends on length. I used under 200 yds. NEEDLES: Size US 10.5 & 17 straights, and size 8 dpns (only 2, for I-cord), 1 darning needle Qauge: 1 inches of the lace body wil alow you to fit 20 bags. Feel free to do more inches if you have pounds of bags to stuff in it! peCial Mate: Free to work in the round with the largest set of dpns you own to eliminate sewing. This pattern is originally not worked in the round. Abbreviatiar&: K=knit YO=yarn over K2tog=knit 2 stitches together St(s)=stitch(es) DPN=doubled pointed needle
DIRECTIONS:
1.) Cast on 28 sts on size US 10.5 needles. 2.) Knit a 1x1 (K1, P1) rib for 3 inches. 3.) Switch to size US 17 needles, and follow Row 1 & 2, as instructed below, for 10+ inches (it depends on how many bags you keep around the house): Row 1: k1, \*YO, K2tog\* across the row until last stitch, k1. Row 2: purl straight across the row. 4.) Once 10+ inches is completed, k2tog across the row. 5.) Cut the working yarn, leaving a long tail for weaving. Take your darning needle and weave the yarn through all of the stitches on your needle a couple of times to close the gap. Secure with a knot. Weave the remaining tail through the side. 6.) Cast on 3 sts with a size US 8 dpn and make an I-cord for 3.5 inches. Sew the I-cord to the top of the bag. 7.) Stuff your bag, and hang it up! Your baggies do the blocking for you!
