Gauge Notes
No gauge has been measured for this. It's supposed to be tiny. Basically, it's a thong meant for entertainment purposes. It has been a popular item for me to make and sell.
Pattern
Nipple Shields
(Maketwo pieces) Using two strands held together (now and throughout), begin with Ch 16(17,18,19,20) Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch to end, 3sc in end ch; working on opposite side of foundation ch, sc in back of each ch to end, ch 1, turn. (31,33,35,37,39 sc) Row 2: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc, 3 sc in center sc, sc in each sc, ch 1, turn. (33,35,37,39,41 sc) Rows 3-7: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc, working 3 sc in center sc, ch 1, turn. (43,45,47,49,51 sc at endof Row7) To make a casing for the ties to go through, Ch 4 (counts as Tr), and turn so that you are now working along bottom edge of Nipple Shield. Tr in each row end. Fasten Off.
Bottom Front
Begin with Ch 18(19,20,21,22) Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch to end, 3 sc in end ch; working on opposite side of foundation ch, sc in back of each ch, ch 1, turn. (35,37,39,41,43 sc) Row 2: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc to center, 3 sc in next sc, sc in sc to end, ch 1, turn. (37,39,41,43,45 sc) Rows 3-6: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc, working 3 sc in center sc, ch 1, turn. (49,51,53,55,57sc To make a casing for the ties to go through, Ch 4 (counts as Tr ), and turn so that you are now working along the upper edge of Bottom Front. Work a row of Tr in each row end across upper edge.Fasten Off.
Bottom Back
Begin with Ch 8
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 5 ch, 3 sc in end ch; working on opposite side of foundation ch, sc in each of next 6 ch, ch 1, turn. (15 sc) Row 2: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc , 3 sc in center sc, sc in sc to end, ch 1, turn. (17 sc) Rows 3-5: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc, working 3 sc in center sc, ch 1, turn. (23sc at end of Row 5) To make a casing for the ties to go through, Ch 4 (counts as Tr), and turn so that you are now working along the upper edge of Bottom Back. Tr in each row end across upper edge. Fasten Off.
I-Cords
Simple I-cords, 4 sts knitted in rnds. Use dpn or circular needle. Cast on 4 sts. Knit one row. Do not turn. Slide stitches to other end of needle to work the next row from the right side. Bring yarn across back of work. Knit 4. Repeat. Or crochet 4 sc sts in rnds. Or just make a chain and hdc across for the ties. Whatever works for you. The ties that go on top of the nipple shields should be 24 inches long each. The tie that goes under the nipple shields and around the body should be 46 inches. For the thong bottom you will need an icord to go through the front and one to go through the back and tie them at the sides. These should be 24 to 30 inches each. The icord (or chain) that connects the front to the back (the thong tail) should be 4 inches. I-cords stretch, and so do chains and hdc stitches. 4 inches has worked every single time I made one of these, and I've made quite a few. Six inches is a bit too much on this one.
