Disclaimer: This is my first attempt at writing a pattern and it has only been tested once. I am happy to receive any feedback or answer any questions you may have. Please reply in comments. PATTERN - Written in US Terminology Materials Bulky Weight Yarn -I used approximately one skein of Lion Brand Jiffy (135 yards) 8.0 mm (L) Hook Yarn needle Special Stitches Embossed Pockets (EP)- Pockets are worked in groups around the post of previous DC round. Work (1 FPSC, 1 FPHDC, 3 FPDC) around indicated post. There is an excellent tutorial by New Stitch aDayhere. Tip: When you begin working the round with EP (Rnd 7) you may want to mark at least the first 3 stitches of the previous round so you can easily identify the stitches you will be working into for the next round. You will be working “behind" the EP and they can be difficult to identify at first. Rnd 1 - Chain 27, join with a slip stitch to first Ch made being careful not to twist your chain. Rnd 2 - Ch 3 (counts as a DC) and DC in remaining stitches (27). Join to top of Ch 3. Rnd 3 - Ch 3, BPDC in the next stitch, FPDC in next stitch, BPDC in next, repeat to the end of round and slip stitch to top of beginning Ch 3 (The Ch 3 in each round of ribbing will remain unworked). Rnds 4-6 - Repeat Rnd 3 (you can continue to repeat if you prefer a longer ribbed fabric to tuck into your boots). Rnd 7 - Ch 1, sl st and work EP around first post after Ch1, sk 2 st, \*sl st into next st and work an EP around post of same st, sk 2 st\*, Repeat \* to \* until the end of round (9 EP), join to top of Ch 1. Rnd 8 - Ch 3, DC into each st. around (27 st). You will be working “behind" the EP. Sl st into top of Ch 3. Repeat Rnds 7 & 8 to the desired height of your boot cuff ending on a Rnd 7 with invisible join (as demonstrated by Tamara Kelly) at the top of Ch 3. Weave inends. @ 2014 Pattern by Melissa Martin - Buy Hook or By Crook
