This creates a beautiful reversible accessory. Intermediate level. Must have worked in Brioche stitch before. Knit

Brk = brioche knit (knit the stitch that was slipped on the previous row with it's yarn over) light coloured yarn.

Purl

Brp = brioche purl (purl the stitch that was slipped on the previous row with it's yarn over) dark colourd yarn

SL1YO (Slip One, Yarn over) = S

This is a stitch combination that creates a stitch with a shawl, counts as a single stitch. Following a knit or brk stitch, bring yarn to front between needle tips, slip next stitch purl wise , bring yarn over needle to back of work. Following a purl or brp stitch, with yarn in front, slip next stitch pur wise and bring yarn

Increase stitch

Brkyobrk =increase. L

1) Brk 1 leave stitch on left hand needle, yo, brk, all in the same stitch . (like kl, yo, kl all in the same stitch in regular knit ting) 2 stitches are in creased.

Left slanting decrease

brlsl dec = left slanting decrease. 3/I 1) slip the first stitch knit wise, 2) knit the next stitch, 3) place stitch on left hand needle, 4) pass the following stitch over, 5) place stitch on right hand needle, 6) pass the slipped stitch over 7) 2 stitches decreased. Both a knit and a purl.

brRsl dec = right slanting decrease: 3/r 1) slip the first stitch knit wise, 2) knit the next stitch, 3) pass the slipped stitch over, 4) place the stitch just made back onto the left hand needle, 5) pass the following stitch over. 6) Place the stitch on your right hand needle 7) 2 stitches decreased. Light Coloured yarn cast on 176 stitches Join in the round being careful not to twist stitches, Place a marker to denote beginning of round. Knit 3 rounds. Decrease round, {knit 9 knit 2 together } repeat to end of round = 160 stitches. Stitches.
