Gauge:
Stockinette stitch with needle 4 mm 26 stitches x 34 rows for 10 cmx10cm
Stockinette stitch:
Row 1 (front): knit Row 2 (back): purl
Cable - Lace - pattern:
Work stitches as on chart. Repeat the pattern repeat 1 (stitches 1-7 on chart) and 2 (stitches 15-21) on both sides of the middle cable (stitches 8 - 14 of the chart) throughout the work. Work rows 19-42 oncefollowedby rows35-42 throughout.
Shawl:

Cast on 5 stitches with needle 4 mm. Row 1(front): knit Row 2 (back): edge stitch, \*yo, pl, repeat from \*, yo, edge stitch = 9 stitches Row 3-5: stockinette stitch Row 6: edge stitch, \*yo, pl, repeat from\*, yo, edge stitch = 17 stitches Rows 7-9: stockinette stitch Row 10: repeat row 6 = 33 stitches Rows 11-13: stockinette stitch Row 14: repeat row 6 = 65 stitches Rows 15-18: stockinette stitch Row 19: start cable-lace-pattern as follows: edge stitch, 7x pattern repeat 1, 7 stitches middle cable, 7x pattern repeat 2, edge stitch - see chart below The even / back rows: work like stitches appear Row 42: you have 107 stitches on your needle From row 43 onwards: work in cable-lace-pattern as shown on chart, increase in every 4. row with M1 after first on the right, before and after the middle cable and before the last cable on the left. Work these increases as kni stitches till you can integrate them into the cable-lace-pattern. Change balls of yarn at the end of a row. Change knitting needles sizes as follows: after 1. ball of yarn to needle 4,5 mm, after 2. ball of yarn to needle 5 mm and work the 4. ball with needle 5,5 mm. When the 4. ball of yarn is finishing, cast off loosely.
Finishing:
Soak the shawl in warm water and woolwash, rinse and squeeze slightly. Block to measurements and dry. After drying finish with the crochet boarder on both long sides as follows: Row 1: single crochets Row 2: \*1 treble crochet, 3 chain stitches, skip 1-2 stitches, 1 single crochet, 1 Picot (= 3 chain stitches, close into the first chain stitch

with a single crochet), skip 1 stitch, 1 single crochet, 3 chain stitches, skip 1-2 stitches, repeat from \*. Position the pattern so the picots are above the cables and the single trebles are over the eyelets. Wet the border and block again.
