Squoffle
This warm and stylish scarflette is very quick and simple to make. It would look gorgeous in your favourite luxury yarn, but it is equally suitable for man made fibres as the stitch used lays completely flat. Gauge: 16sts per 10cm/4" in Squoffle stitch. Instructions: c/o 26 stitches. Rows 1-5: Knit. Row 6: p1, [mk] 8 times, p1. Repeat these 6 rows until knitting measures 85 cm (35"), or 80cm (31") if you plan on blocking the scarf once finished. Knit 5 more rows then b/o all stitches. Finishing: After blocking (if required) lay one end over the other at a 90° angle, as in main picture. The eyelets of the lace pattern serve as buttonholes. Note where the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th buttonholes of the bottom edge lay and sew buttons onto the corresponding areas on the lower layer of the scarf. Add a second row of buttons in the same manner to correspond with eyelets in the 5th row of lace pattern.
