7 stitches and 10 rows = 1 inch Abbreviations: ·k= knit ·p=purl ·m = make one These Seeded Mitts are designed to be sensible yet feminine with seed stitch and button accents. Perfect for wearing while working at a computer, texting, or while driving in the winter time.
PATTERN:
Left Mitt:
Cast on 48 stitches using the long tail method. Join to work in the round. Row 1: (kl, pl) to end. Row 2: (p1, kl) to end. Rows 3 - 12: Repeat rows 1 + 2 (5 times). Row 13: k18, (k1, pl) four times, k to end. Row 14: k18, (p1, k1) for times, k to end. Rows 15 - 4l: Repeat rows 13 + 14 (14 times or until piece measures 4" from cast on edge).
Right Mitt:
Cast on 48 stitches using the long tail method. Join to work in the round. Row l: (kl, pl) to end. Row 2: (pl, kl) to end. Rows 3 - 12: Repeat rows 1 + 2 (five times) Row 13: (kl, pl) 3 times, k to 2 stitches before end, kl, p1. Row 14: (pl, kl) 3 times, k to 2 stitches before end, pl, k1. Rows 15 - 41: Repeat rows 13 + 14 (14 times or until piece measures 4” from cast on edge). Begin left mitt thumb gusset: Row 43: kl, ml, k to 1 stitch before end, ml, k1. Rows 44 - 46: k around. Row 47: k2, m1, k to 2 stitches before end, m1, k2. Rows 48 - 50: k around. Row 51: k3, m1, k to 3 stitches before end, m1, k3. Rows 52 - 54: k around. Row 55: k4, m1, k to 4 stitches before end, m1, k4. Rows 56 - 58: k around. Row 59: k5, m1, k to 5 stitches before end, m1, k5. Rows 60 - 62: k around. Row 63: k6, m1, k to 6 stitches before end, m1, k6. Rows 64 - 66: k around. Row 67: k7, ml, k to 7 stitches before end, m1, k7. Rows 68 - 70: k around. Row 71: k8, m1, kit to 8 stitches before end, m1, k8. Row 72: k to 8 stitches before end, put last 8 stitches on waste yarn. Row 73: put first 8 stitches on waste yarn, k to end. Stitches on waste yarn will become the thumb. Note: After row 73, the instructions are the same for both the right and left mitt. Begin right mitt thumb gusset: Row 43: k23, m1, k2, ml, k to end. Rows 44 - 46: k around. Row 47: k23, m1, k4, m1, k to end. Rows 48 - 50: k around. Row 51: k23, m1, k6, m1, k to end. Rows 52 - 54: k around. Row 55: k 23, ml, k8, ml, k to end. Rows 56 - 58: k around. Row: 59: k23, m1, k10, m1, k to end. Rows 60 - 62: k around. Row 63: k23, m1, k12, ml, k to end. Rows 64 - 66: k around. Row 67: k23, m1, k14, m1, k to end. Rows 68 - 70: k around. Row 71: k23, m1, k16, m1, k to end. Row 72: k24, put next 16 stitches on waste yarn, k to end. Stitches on waste yarn will become the thumb. Row 73: k around.

Left and Right Mitts: Begin portion around palm and fingers: Rows 74 - 84: k around (or knit until piece measures 7” from cast on edge. Row 85: (kl, pl) to end. Row 86: (p1, k1) to end. Rows 87 - 96: repeat rows 85 + 86 (5 times). Bind off loosely. Begin thumb: Pick up the 18 stitches on waste yarn. Join for working in the round. Row 1 - 4: k around. Row 5: (k1, pl) around. Row 6: (p1, kl) around. Rows 7 - 10: repeat rows 5 + 6 (2 times). Bind off loosely.
Finishing:
Weave in ends. If needed, use the ends around the thumb to close any gap between the thumb and hand portion of the mitts. Sew three buttons on each mitt, evenly spaced along the seed stitch accent along the Wrist.
