Materials:

I used Acrylic yarn (8ply, lessthan 1oz);a little of stuffing material; a 3mm crochet. hook; one button; a little craft container (1 inch diameter) or a standard plastic soda lid; a cord or ribbon (7 inch); a piece of fabric for the lining (approx. 6.3 x 4 inch); sewing needle and scissors. Finished size: 1.5 x 8.5 inch R1: ch2, 5sc in 2nd ch from hook. (5 sts). Mark the end of the rounds. R2: 2sc, inc, 2sc. (6 sts) R3: 6 inc. (12 sts) R4: 1sc around. (12 sts) R5: [1sc, inc] 6 times. (18 sts) R6: 1sc around. (18 sts) R7: [8sc, inc] 2 times. (20 sts)

To make the hook

R8: 10sc, ch3, skip next 10 sts and continue with the next round. R9: 10sc, 1sc on each ch. (13 sts) R10: 1sc around. (13 sts) R11: [2sc, dec] 3 times, 1sc. (10 sts) R12: [1sc, dec] 3 times, 1sc. (7 sts) R13: 1sc around. (7 sts) Cut yarn leaving a small tail to close the

To make the body.

Rejoin the yarn to the first stitch you skipped doing the hook. R1: [2sc, inc] 3 times, 1sc, 1sc in the corner formed, 3sc on the opposite side of the 3ch made for the hook, 1sc in the other corner. (18 sts) R2: 1sc around. (18 sts) Fill just this part with stuffing and continue working. R3-15: 1sc around. (18 sts) At this point, it is better to place the lining (previously folded and sewn to fit inside the hook) and insert the container or soda lid at the bottom (This is to avoid the hooks get hooked in the yarn or fabric). To make the smooth part of the center of the hook, some stitches are working as back post single crochets (bpsc). Make these stitches loose so your hook doesn't shrink a lot. As we are working in spiral, the lines are going to look a little slanted. R16: 7sc, 6bpsc, 3sc. (Incomplete row. Move your marker to consider this the end of this row, keep marking from here). R17: [6bpsc, 3sc] 2 times. (18 sts) R18-25:Repeat round 17. (18 sts) Continue working for 15 more rounds or until the desired length. 26-40: 1sc around. (18 sts).

To make the lid

R1: ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sts) R2: 6 inc. (12 sts) R3: [1sc, inc] 6 times. (18 sts) R4: [8sc, inc] 2 times. (20 sts) R5-7: 1sc around. (20 sts)

To make the buttonhole

R8: 5sc, ch2, skip next 2 sts, 13sc. (20 sts) R9: 5sc, 1sc on each ch, 13 sc. (20 sts) Cut yarn leaving a tail to sew to the body of the hook.

To make up.

Tie the cord to the lid and add something to give strength to this part (add lining to the lid too, or use a piece of plastic or a button of the size of the bottom of the lid). You will need it because yarn canbe deformed with the weight of the hooks. Sew the lining to the top of body, place the button 2-3 rows below the top, and sew the back of the lid to the back of the hook. Take your hooks, put them inside your hook, and all ready to go!
