Materials 400 yd finger wt yarn size 1 needle, or size to obtain gauge cable needle darning needle scissors Techniques: chart reading cabling with or without a needle circular knitting flap $\&$ gusset heel

Cast on 72 sts. K2,p2, $\star\,{\sf k4}$ $\mathsf{p}2^{\star}$ repeat from \* 10 more times. K2 Continue for 11 more rounds for a total of 12 rounds. Begin leg chart at row 1 work front leg chart across needle 1/top of foot needle and back of leg chart across needle 2. Knit rows 1-24 of leg chart 3 times. After the $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ time continue to row 25, but only knit the front of the leg (first 36 sts). Begin heel flap on Needle 2: Row $1-\frac{\ast}{\mathrm{S}}|$ 1, k1 \* repeat from \* ending with a ktb, do not continue to needle #1. Row 2 - Turn work and purl back across. Repeat these two rows 17 more times. You should be able to count 18 total slipped sts along the edge of the heel flap. Turning the Heel: Row 1: (right side) Slip 1, k20, ssk, k1, turn work. Row 2: Slip 1, p7, p2tog, p1, turn Row 3: Slip 1, knit to 1 st before gap created by previous row, ssk to close gap (1 st from each side of gap), k1, turn Row 4: Slip 1, purl to 1 st before gap creating by turn on previous row, p2tog to close gap (1 sts from each side of gap), p1, turn Repeat Rows 3 & 4 until all sts have been worked. 22 sts remain. Gusset: Setup Rnd: Slip 1 purlwise with yarn in back, K21. Pick up and knit 18 chain sts on gusset. Knit across the top of the foot (36 sts) With an empty needle, pick up and knit 18 chain sts on the other side of gusset. Knit across heel sts. DecreasingGusset: Round 1: Knit until 3 sts from the end of gusset, k2tog, k1. Knit 36 top of foot sts. K1,ssk work to end of round. Round 2: Knit all sts. Work rounds 1 & 2 until there are 32 (36) sts on needle 2. 32 (36) sts on needle 1 Knit rounds in stockinette stitch until 2 inches less than the desired finished length of foot. Toe Shaping: Round 1: Knit to 3 sts before the end of the sole needles (2). K2tog. K1. Continuing on the top of foot needle (1), k1, ssk, knit to 3 sts before end. K2tog, k1. Round 2: Knit even Repeat these 2 rounds until 8 sts remain. Graft together using your favorite method. Notes: Beginning of the round is at the right end of Needle #1, where you cast on. (Not at the center of the back of the leg.) Stitches are always slipped purlwise

Right Twist
