Fingerless Moss Mitts

These fingerless mitts are incredibly soft to the feel, as well as warming. They are perfect to wear during the early autumn, before the winter cold arrives. However, should you feel cold, just slap the half mitts over your regular gloves, for extra warmth!

Items necessary

●Yarn: 1 ball of Rowan Lima (1.76 ounces, 109 yards/ 50 grams, 100 m) Gauge: 18 sts x 31 rounds = 10 x 10 cm (4 "x 4") Needles: 6.5 dblp needles (or long circular needle if you prefer the Magic Loop). The needle size simply a guideline, you should choose the needle size which helps you achieve the correct gauge. ·Stitch holder Darning needle for weaving in ends

Finished measurements: 10 cm wide, 20 cm long (4" wide, approx. 8" long)

Abbreviations

k = knit p = purl st/s = stitch/es rnd/s = round/s rep = repeat Moss stitch round 1: \*k 1, p 1\* rep \*-\* until end of round round 2: \*p 1, k 1\* rep \*-\* until end of round

Pattern

Cast on 30 sts on 6.5 mm needles Place marker for beginning of round, join for working in the round, work 30 rnds of moss stitch. Next round K all sts and at the same time increase 6 sts evenly distributed over the round. K 17 rounds. Next round K 29 sts, place the next 6 sts on a stitch holder, cast on 6 sts, k 1 st. K 12 round, then work 4 rounds of moss stitch, cast off loosely.

Thumb

Place the sts from the sts holder unto a needle, then pick up and knit 8 sts from the cast off edge. Join for working in the round and place marker for beginning of round. Work 4 rounds of moss stitch, cast off loosely. Make another mitt in the same way. Weave in all ends, wash according to the label of the yarn, let dry on flat surface. Good luck!
