Materials 2 colors of choice or you may work all in one color H, I or J hooks, depending on size Yarnneedle Sizes (H hook) NB: 14" (l hook) 3-6 months: 17" (J hook) 6-12 months" 19" Hat is worked in rounds. Do not turn your work. Your beginning CHs do not count as a st. Gauge is important. Be sure to check your gauge and adjust as needed.

Rnd 1: Start with a magic circle of 10 dc or desired way of starting a circle. (You may also CH 4 and join and then make your 10 DCs into the circle or CH 4 and 10 DCs into the 3rd CH from hook) (10) Rnd 2: 2 DC in each st around. Join to the beginning CH 3 with a sl st. (20) Rnd 3: CH 3, \*DC in the 1st st, 2 DC in the next\* Rep from \* to \* around. Join to beginning CH 3 with a sl st. (30) Rnd 4: CH 3, \*DC in the next 2 sts, 2 DC in the next\* Rep from \* to \* around. Join to beginning CH 3 with a sl st. (40) Rnd 5: CH 3, working in BLO, DC around. (40) BRIM Rnd 9: CH 2, working in the FLO, \*HDC in 1st st, 2 HDC in next\* Rep from \* to \* around. Join to beginning CH 2 with a sl st. (65) Rnd 10: CH 2, \* 2 HDC in the 1st st, HDC in the next 4 sts\* Rep from \* to \* around. Join to the beginning CH 2 with a sl st. Fasten off if using 2 colors. (76) Rnd 11: With B, Join with a sl st in any st. CH 1 and SC in each st around. Join to beginning CH 1 with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in all ends. (76) With H hook, CH 45, leaving a long tail for attaching to hat. HDC in the 3'd CH from hook and in each st across.Fasten off. (42) Starting at any st in the 6th row from the bottom of the brim, \*weave under 2 DC sts and over 4 DC sts\*. Rep from \* to \* around, making sure to end with the remaining on the underside of the hat. It is OK if there is extra at the end as this will be on the inside of the hat.Sew closed and fasten off.Weave in ends.

(93) With H hook, CH 57 (63), leaving a long tail for attaching to hat. HDC in the 3'd CH from hook and in each st across. Fasten off. 54 (60) Starting at any st in the 5th row from the bottom of the brim, \*weave under 2 DC sts and over 4 DC sts\*. Rep from \* to \* around, making sure to end with the remaining on the underside of the hat. It is OK if there is extra at the end as this will be on the inside of the hat. Sew closed and fasten off.
