Lattice Triangle
An original design by Barb Fritz A great way to use some wildly colored sock or DK yarn. Use a needle a couple sizes larger than the yarn calls for.

Sample is done in 2 skeins of Mirasol Hacho (137 yards/50 g), using a size 9 needle Simple, bottom-up triangle has a lattice pattern which radiates from a center stitch. Skill level: easy Cast on 3 sts. Knit 6 rows. Pick up 3 sts along garter edge, turn and pick up 3 sts from cast-on edge. - 9 sts
Set-up rows:
Row 1:(ws): k3 (edge sts), yo, pto last 3 sts, yo, k3 (edge sts) 11 sts Row 2 (Rs): k3 (edge sts), [yo, k1] 2 times, yo, pm for center st, k center st, yo, [k1,yo] 2 times, k3 (edge sts) - 17sts Row 3 (Ws): k3, p to last 3 sts, k3
Body:
RS: k3 (edge sts) [yo, k2tog] to 1 st before center st, yo, k1, yo, k center st, yo, k1, yo, [sl 1, k1, psso, yo] repeat until last 3 (edge sts), k3. 4 sts increased on each RS row. Ws: k3, pto last 3 sts, k3 Repeat until desired size, end with a Ws (P) row. Bind off as follows with a larger needle: Knit 1 st, $^{*}\mathsf{k}1$ transfer the 2 sts back to the left hand needle and k2tog through back loops,\* repeat between $\ast_{5}$ Bury end(s) neatly with tapestry needle. Wet block: after a good soak and stretch with your blocking wires and pins, this shawl will grow to a generous size. Finished sample: $52^{\prime\prime}\times30^{\prime\prime}$
