This stitch comes from Linda P. Schapper's The Complete Book of Crochet Stitch Designs, page 86, pattern 80. The scarfis worked long ways.
Details:
Hook: I $(5.5\;\mathsf{m m})$ Yarn: 2 skeins (220 yards) of Tonalita, shown at left in $\#2398$ Chocolate Raspberry. Gauge: Not important; determined by the hook and yarn you use. The scarf at left is about 6 inches wide.

Pattern:

The scarf here was completedwith a starting chain of 121. Row 1: Dc in $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ ch from hook, ch 1, dc in next ch, \*skip next ch, dc in next ch, ch 1, dc in next ch, rep from \* across to within last 2 ch, skip next ch, dc in last ch, turm. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc),[dc, ch 1, de]leach ch-1 space across to last ch-1 space, dc $13^{r\mathrm{d}}$ ch of turning ch, turn.

Repeat row 2 until scarf is desiredlength.
