Directions - This afghan is worked in one piece, following the enclosed chart. Use the basic afghan stitch and change colors according to the chart. · On all rows, read chart from right to left. Remember that both halves of 1 afghan row is 1 row on chart. · Join colors as follows: On first half of row, pick up the designated number of loops of first color shown on chart, join next color, pick up specified number of loops in this color. You can carry the yarn across, if no more than 3 stitches of another color interrupt the sequence. Join a new ball of the same color if necessary. · On second half of row, work off loops with matching color until there is 1 stitch left of the color, then change colors, picking up yarn from underneath color previously used, thus twisting color to prevent hole in work. The new color will be drawn through one loop of previous color and one loop of new color. · When a color is no longer needed, break off, leaving a long end toweave inon thewrong side. · To begin afghan, chain 152, then follow chart. After working last row of chart, slip-stitch in each upright bar across row. · Once afghan is complete, use basic cross stitch to "Little Princess"in Dark Pink or Rose

GENERALINFORMATION
This afghan is worked in one piece, following the enclosed chart. You can use either afghan stitch or single crochet. You may use any type yarn you choose, however, you will need to experiment with hooks to find one that yields a perfect square. Otherwise, your picture will be skewed. It is best to test by crocheting 25 stitches by 25 rows and checking to make certain it issquare. The yarn weight and hook used will determine finished size. Worked in 4-ply yarn, the afghan will measure approximately 48 inches x 62 inches. Worked in sport weight yarn, the afghan will measure approximately 42" x 56". Worked in baby yarn, the afghan will measure approximately 32 inches x 45 inches. · Once afghan is complete, use basic cross stitch to add “Little Princess" in Dark Pink or Rose
FINISHING
You can use any border style of your choice to finish the afghan. Two standard types are Fringe and Basic Border This afghan looks best with a pink border as shown. Fringe - Using yarn color of your choice, cut in 10-inch lengths and, using three yarn lengths for each fringe in every third space, add fringe to top and bottom edges of afghan Basic Border - Using yarn color of your choice, Row 1: single crochet around afghan, working 3 single crochet in each corner. Rows 2-3: Switch to half double crochet around afghan, working 3 half double crochets in each corner. Row 4: Switch to single crochet for the last row, working 3 single crochet in each corner.
