Kindle Cables

This is a quick little project that you can whip up at the last minute as a gift for the ereader enthusiast in your life. A lovely cover for a beloved Kindle, gives it some style and also protection from scratches when in transport. Yarn: Cascade $\mathrm{Eco+}$ Needles: $4.0\mathrm{mm}$ ,$40^{\circ}$ circular for magic loop, or two circulars, or a set of double pointed needles as you prefer for knitting in the round. K-Knit P-Purl Ktbl- Knit through back loop PM-PlaceMarker C4B - Place two stitches on a cable needle, and hold to the back of the work. Knit 2 stitches from the left needle, then knit the two stitches from the cable needle. C4F - Place two stitches on a cable needle, and hold to the front of the work. Knit 2 stitches from the left needle, then knit the two stitches from the cable needle.
Pattern
Using JMCO, CO 50 stitches total. Work 3 rounds plain, knitting all stitches. Next round: $^{*}\mathrm{K}3$ , PM, K7, PM, K5, PM,K7, PM, K3. Repeat from \* once more. Begin pattern: Work the cable pattern (see below for cable pattern in written, and charted form) twice in each round, once for each “side” of the cover. You will work a total of 10 repeats of the 6 round pattern. Seed stitch border: Round $1\colon^{*}({\bf P}1,{\bf K}1)$ repeat 12 times, P1. Repeat from \* once more to complete the round. Round 2: $^{*}(\mathsf{K l},\mathsf{P}1)$ repeat 12 times, K1. Repeat from \* once more to complete the round. Repeat the above two rounds 4 times. Bind off loosely. (I used EZ's sewn bind off, but any stretchy bind off will do. Slip your Kindle in, and enjoy your new Kindle cover!
