Quickie Little Legwarmers
By Jaele Rollins

These chunky little legwarmers knit up quickly and are super warm. They are perfect for beginners learning to knit in the round, from a chart, and/or learning to knit cables. The fabric is dense, so if you want more movement, go up a needle size, though you may want to cast on fewer stitches. (As long as you maintain an even number of stitches for the 1x1 ribbing, the size is easily variable.) The sample is sized newborn - 6 months. This pattern has not been test knit.
Materials:
Any super bulky yarn should be suitable. I've used about 40g of Adriafil Candy Super Bulky in charcoal grey (038). Size 6.5mm circular needles, suitable for magic loop, or 6.5mm DPNs Stitch markers Cableneedle Darning needles for weaving in ends Key: CO - cast on k - knit p- purl cl2 - slip 2 stitches to cable needle and hold to front of work, knit 2, knit 2 from cable needle pm - place marker sm - slip marker CO 20 stitches using a long tail cast on. Place marker and join in the round, being careful not to twist stitches. Knit 1x1 ribbing for 3 rows: (k1, p1), continue to end. Row 4: k2, pm, begin knitting from chart at row 1, pm, knit to end. Row 5: k2, sm, knit from chart at row 2, sm, knit to end. Continue until you reach your desired length. In the sample, I repeated the chart 4 times. Knit 1x1 ribbing for 3 rows: (k1, p1), continue to end. Weave in ends. Block lightly.
