Barnaby the Sclocket By Lottie Lodge
5mm / US 8 needles Barnaby is a $2\!\times\!2$ ribbed scarf with pockets at the ends to keep your hands warm, or possibly to carry things. (Scarf + g $\mathsf{l o v e}\,+\,\mathsf{p o c k e t}=\mathsf{s c}$ locket.)

The large pockets are extra warm because of the ribbing, and can double up as a hat with pointed ears in a pinch. Naturally, although I name the yarn I used here, you can probably substitute any yarn easily and make a sclocket any width or length that you want. This pattern is more an explanation of an idea than something that you need to follow carefully; the yarn, stitch pattern and measurements can all be tweaked. My sclocket was knit flat and is $20\;{\mathsf{c m}}$ or 8 inches wide when the ribbing is relaxed. It's about 7 ft long, or 217 cm. (l have long arms and can wrap Barnaby once around my neck and comfortably use the pockets.) I used seven $50\mathfrak{g}$ skeins of Tivoli Blizzard; each skein is 110 yards. This yarn knits up as aran weight.
Pattern
Cast on 60 stitches using a stretchy cast on. Knit 2, purl 2, and repeat until the end of the row. Repeat this row for all seven skeins. Cast off using a stretchy bind-off. Fold up 9.5 inches or 25 centimetres for deep pockets and sew up the sides.
