Toasty is a fun little project that knits up quickly. Knit doubly thick for extra warmth, even when the wind is blowing. Worked in super soft Malabrigo it's a treat to wear next to your skin. Difficulty Level: Advanced Beginner

Materials Needed:

Malabrigo Merino Worsted [100% Merino Wool; 216 ydl/198 m per 100 g skein];color: Loro Barranquero; ·1 US 10 (9 mm) circular needle · A cable needle · A large sewing needle to weave in ends Sizes: One size, approximately 19 inches (48 cm) in circumference Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows per 4 inches (10 cm) in Pattern Notes: This pattern is designed to be doubly thick. First the cables are knit, then the same length is worked as stockinette and it is grafted closed at the bottom. Should you want something that isn't quite as thick simply bind off once

Abbreviations:

C6B Slip 6 sts to cable needle, hold toback, K6, K6 from cable needle. K2tog8 Knit two stitches together. M1 Using yourleft needl insert i from back to front under the yarn between the last stitch worked on your right needle and the next stitch to work on the left needle and lift this strand up to form aloop on your left needle.Knit through the front of this loop.

Pattern:

CO96sts. Rounds 1-4: [K4, P4, K12, P4], repeat to end of round. Round 5: [K4, P4, C6B, P4], repeat to end of round. Rounds 6 - 10: [K4, P4, K12, P4], repeat to end of round. Repeat these 10 rounds twice more for a total of 30 rounds. Knit 4 rounds. [K6, K2tog], repeat to end of round, 84 sts. Knit 20 rounds. [K7, M1], repeat to end of round, 96 sts. Knit 4 Yrounds.

Finishing:

Fold the cowl inhalfsothat the cast on edge meets thelivests still on the needl. Using the largesewing needle,graft the live sts ontothe cast on row thereby closing the cowl onto itselfand creating a tube that has cables on the outside and stockinette on the inside. Weave in ends. Wear and enjoy!
