REVERSE THEPOLARITY OF THENEUTRONFLOW Materials for the Fingering weight socks: -Fingering weight Sock Yarn aprox 437 yards -2.25mm DPN needles or Circulars for Magic Looping (or correct needles to meet gauge) -2 x Stitch Markers Materials for the DK weight Socks: -DK weight yarn, aprox 410 yards - 3mm DPN needles or Circulars for Magic Looping (or correct needles to meet gauge) -2 x Stitch Markers Gauge 8sts to 1" 6sts to 1" Pattern Sizes are small, (Medium, Large) Abbreviations: CO - Cast On PM - Place Marker K - Knit P- Purl sts - stitches ssk - slip 2 sts consecutively knit wise, Knit the 2 sts together through the back loops. C8F - Cable 8 Front, slip 4 stitches onto cable needle, hold to Front, Knit 4 stitches from left needle, Knit the 4 stitches from the cable needle. Cuff: C0 52 (64,72) sts CO 40 (48,56) sts Join in the round being careful not to twist and work K2, P2 ribbing for a total of 10 rounds Leg: Knit 18 (24, 28) sts, PM, Knit Reverse Polarity Pattern 0ver the next 16 sts, PM, Knit 18 (24,28) sts Knit 12 (16, 20) sts, PM, Knit Reverse Polarity Pattern over the next 16 sts, PM, Knit 12 (16, 20sts. Knit the leg Pattern for all sizes until total leg measured from the Cuff is the desired length whether that be 5", 6” or 7" long. Heel: Knit across 13 (16, 18) sts. Turn and Purl across 26 (32, 36) sts, Total heel sts 26 (32, 36) sts Knit across 10 (12, 14) sts. Turn and Purl across 20 (24, 28) sts. Total heel sts 20 (24, 28) sts Place remaining sts on stitch holder to work on later. Heel Flap: The following 2 rows form the heel flap for all sizes: 1/ (RS) \* Slip 1 Purl Wise with yarn in back, K 1. Rep from \* 2/ (WS) \* Slip 1 Purl Wise with yarn in front, Purl to end. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until there are a total of: 26 (32, 36) rows Repeat rows 1 and 2 until there are a total of: 20 (24, 28) rows Turn Heel: (RS) Knit across 15 (18, 20) sts, ssk, k1, Turn (RS) Knit across 12 (14, 16) sts, ssk, k1, Turn Work as follows for all sizes: Slip 1 Purl Wise, P5, P2tog, P1, Turn. 1) Slip 1 Purl Wise, Knit to 1 st before gap, ssk, k1, Turn 2) Slip 1 Purl Wise, Purl to 1 st before gap, P2tog, PI. Turn Repeat rows 1 and 2 until the following number of sts remain: 16 (18,20) 12 (14,16) Gusset: Knit across heel stitches. Needle 1: Place 8 (9, 10) sts from heel flap onto Needle 1 and Pick up and Knit 13 (16, 18) sts, Needle 2: Knit across 26 (32, 36) sts on the holder keeping to Reverse Polarity Pattern, Needle 3:Pick up and Knit 13 (16, 18) sts. K 8 (9, 10) sts. Needle 1: Place 6 (7, 8) sts from heel flap onto Needle 1 and Pick up and Knit 10 (12, 14) sts. Needle 2: Knit across 20 (24, 28)sts on holder Keeping to Reverse Polarity Pattern, Needle 3: Pick up and Knit 10 (12, 14) sts. K6 (7, 8) sts. Round now begins from this point. Gusset Decreases: 1) Needle 1: Knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1. Needle 2 Keeping to the Reverse Polarity Pattern, Knit across without any decreases Needle 3: K1, ssk, Knit to end. 2) Knit Repeat rows 1 and 2 until the following sts remain: 52 (64,72) 40 (48,56) Foot Continue working without any further decreases, carrying the Reverse Polarity pattern down the centre of the foot until sock is 1" (1.5", 2") from the desired length. Toe 1) Needle 1: Knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1 Needle 2: K1, ssk, Knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1 Needle 3: K1, ssk, Knit to end 2) Knit Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the following sts remain: 20 (28, 36) 16 (20, 24) Knit the sts from Needle 1 onto Needle 3. Using the Kitchener stitch method, graft the sts together. Enjoy your socks!
