Toe up construction, knit in the round, with gusset heel. Slipper pictured is knit to US size 7.5 women’s shoe equivalent. Each additional complete pattern repeat will extend the slipper length by one whole shoe size. Stitches used: knit, purl, knit two together (k2tog); slip, slip knit (ssk); make one right (m1R): pick up the second stockinette stitch below the row being knit on the left side and knit into it, then move to right needle; make one left (m1L): pick up the second stockinette stitch below the row being knit on the right side and knit into it, then move to right needle. DIRECTIONS

Toe

Using Judy's Magic Cast-On, or the Turkish Cast-On, CO 14 sts. onto each needle. Knit one round. Round 2: K1, K1tbl, knit to 3 stitches before last stitch, k1tbl, knit to end. 16 stitches each needle. Round 3: Knit. & 3 until there are 26 stitches on each needle, then knit 2 additional rounds ever.

Foot

Next round: Needle 1: Begin chart with round 1 and knit to round 12 until 2.5" before desired length. Needle 2: Knit all stitches. For size pictured, knit 8 complete pattern repeats, plus an additional 7 rounds of the next pattern repeat before starting gusset increases. LENGTH SIZING NOTE: Each additional complete pattern repeat willengthen tbe sock one wbole size, so you can calculate a balf size increase by kniting only 6 additional rounds of a pattern repeat.

Gusset Increases

Needle 2 (sole stitches): Next round: K1, K1tbl, knit to 3 stitches before last stitch, K1tbl, knit to end, continue on second needle. Round 2: Knit even on both needles. Continue in this manner, repeating these two rounds until there are 48 stitches on Needle 2. Knit one round even, continuing pattern on Needle 1, and knitting all stitches on Needle 2.

Turn the Heel

On Needle 1, knit in pattern. You will be now knit back and forth on Needle 2 only: Needles 2: Round 1: Knit 25, ssk, k1, turn. Round 2: Sl1, p7, p2tog, p1, turn. Round 3: Sl1, k8, ssk, k1, turn. Round 4: Sl1, p9, p2tog, p1, turn. Round 5: Sl1, k10, ssk, k1, turn. Round 6: Sl1, p11, p2tog, p1, turn. Round 7: Sl1, k12, ssk, k1, turn. Round 8: Sl1, p13, p2tog, p1, turn. Round 9: Sl1, k14, ssk, k1, turn. Round 10: Sl1, p15, p2tog, p1, turn. Round 11: Sl1, k16, ssk, k1, turn. Round 12: Sl1, p17, p2tog, p1, turn. Round 13: Sl1, k18, ssk, k1, turn. Round 14: Sl1, p19, p2tog, p1, turn. Round 15: Sl1, k20, ssk, k1, turn. Round 16: Sl1, p 21, p2tog, p1, turn. Round 17: Sl1, k 21, ssk, k1. (26 stitches). Do not turn.

Slipper Cuff

Continue on to Needle 1, knitting the first stitch through the back loop, and then continuing on in pattern. Knit an additional 2 complete pattern repeats on Needle 1 while kniting stockinette on Needle 2. After 2 pattern repeats are completed, knit a 2 X 2 rib for 7 rounds.

Scalloped Bind Off

Next Round: Starting on Needle 1 , \*k2, slip first stitch over second stitch, m1R, slip first stitch over second stitch, P1, slip first stitch over second stitch, P1, slip first stitch over second stitch, m1L, slip first stitch over second Sstitch\* Repeat from \* to \* to last stitch, then pick up the first stitch that you bound off, slip last stitch over this ; break yarn, leaving an 8" tail, slipping tail through the loop of the last stitch remaining on the needle and then weave in the end.
