Infinity striped socks

2 sizes: Small-medium (large) Another pattern of socks perfect to use remaining of yarn! Easy, but elegant, those ones have been made with bamboo and cotton, to be worn in summer. For you, just take a look at you stash! You need : 5 different colors of fingering weight yarn (about 50yds of each, B (100 for large), C, D, E and F) and 100yds of fingering sock yarn (color A). 5 dpns of 2.5mm or for a gauge of 30sts X 40 rows pour 4' in stockinette st.

Infinity chart

English instructions Co 64 (72)sts. Distribute 16 (18)sts 0n each dpn and work k2p2 ribbing, starting stripes sequence. (19) rows, put the 2 first sts of 3rd dpn on 2nd dpn: 16-18-14-16 (18-20-16-18). Worl 1st dpn : 2sts tog, k to the end of needle 2nd dpn : k up to 2 last 2 sts : 2sts tog 3rd dpn : p 2, 2nd row of infinity chart, k to the end of needle 4th dpn : k up to last 6sts : p2, 2nd row of infinity chart Continue the stripes sequence and infinity chart. The 2 first needles are back of leg, and 3rd and 4th needle are for front of leg. 20 rows after ribbing, dec 1sts at end of 1t dpn and another dec at beg of 2nd dpn. You should finish a stripe sequence, then you'll work heel. You have 60 or 62 (68 or 70)sts. The change in number of sts is because of infinity chart : it has sometime 4, sometime5sts.
Heel (with color A)
Heel flap : On the 30 (34)sts of 2 first dpns, work (back and forth), a k row and a p row, then : 1st row : \*k 1slip st, k 1\* all row 2nd row : p 1 slip st, \* p all row. Work those 2 rows 12(14) times.
Heel turn
1st row: k 17(21)sts, 1 ssk, k 1, turn work without finishing row 2nd row : p 6(10)sts, 2 psts tog, p 1, turn work 3rd row : k 7(11)sts, 1 ssk, k 1, turn 4th row: p 8(12)sts, 2 psts tog, p 1, turn 5th row : k 9(13)sts, 1 ssk, k 1, turn 6th row: p 10(14)sts, 2 psts tog, p 1, turn.. Continue like this up to 12th row: p 16(20)sts, 2 psts tog, p1: 18(22)sts. Cut yarn. After heel, go back to the beginning of heel (where you let yarn) and pu 14(16)sts along side of heel flap and with same dpn k half of heel sts : 9(11)sts. With another dpn, k next 9(11)sts and pu 14 (16)sts along other side of heel flap. With 3'd and 4th needle, turn back to round knitting with stripes sequence and infinity chart. At same time, you will dec at beg of 1st needle (1 ssk) and at the end of 2nd dpn(2sts tog) every 3 rows up to your 60 or 62(68 or 70) total sts. Continue to work foot up to 2'" before end : for small-medium it should be at the end of another stripes sequence, when you just cut color F. For large, it should be 10 rows later, when you just cut colorA.
Toe
( color A for small-medium, and color B for large) You have 15 (17)sts on each dpn. You stop stripes sequence but not infinity chart. 1st row: 1st dpn : ssk, k up to end 2nd dpn : k up to last 2sts, 2sts tog 3rd dpn and 4th dpn: Keep infinity chart and the 2 psts just before, dec at beg (ssk) and at the end(2sts tog) of k section. 2nd row : Work all sts as it is shown without dec. Continue like this dec every other row up to 24 total sts. Finish with a grafting. NB. Stop infinity chart after a row 1 few rows before end, so work only ksts for the last rows.
