Material:

400 g Zealana Artisan TUI Chunky (70% Merino, 15% brushtail possum hair, 15% cashmere), weight chunky 111m/100g in Gothic Grape T09 50 g Zealana Performa Kauri Worsted Weight (60% Merino, 30% Brushtail Possum Hair, 10% Silk) weight Worsted 86m/50g in Ashen K13 Crochet hook US K - 10 1/2 (6,5 mm)

Measurements:

38 cm wide and 174 cm long (after blocking) Gauge (blocked): With crochet hook US K - 10 1/2 (6,5 mm) in treble pattern 11 trebles x 4,5 rows for 4x 4 inch (10 cm x 10 cm) This project does not really need a gauge, just to check if you have enough yarn for making it.

Shawl:

Chain 42 with TUI Chunky in Gothic Grape and hook K. Turn and start with a single crochet into the second chain. Go on with single crochets for the whole row. Chain 3 and turn. Now start with pattern as follows: Row 1: the 3 chains are the first treble, followed by \*3 trebels, chain 1, repeat from \* throughout the row till the last 4 stitches left, 4 trebles, chain 3 and turn. Row 2: like row 1, but chain 1 at the end and turn. Row 3: with Kauri Ww in Ashen, leave first treble and \*3 slip stitches into the 3 trebles from last row, 1 nupp of 3 trebles into the chain stitch from last row, repeat from \* throughout the row till the last 4 stitches, finish with 4 slip stitches and leave thread hanging. Row 4: go back to the other end where the TUI thread is hanging, chain 3 and go on in pattern of row 1. Hook the trebles into the row 2 stitches, so the grey slip stitches won't be visible. At the end, incorporate the grey Kauri thread with the TUI dark purple thread to take it to the next row. So you don't have to cut it every time. Row 5: like row 2 Row 6: like row 3 Repeat these 6 rows 18 more times. Finish with a purple row of single crochets and cast off. Sew in your threads, wash and block slightly.
