"The Frill is Gone" Socks

Cast on 160 stitches
Divide stitches on 2 circular needles, 80 on needle 1 and 80 on needle 2. Join making sure you do not twist the stitches. Row 1:\*Knit 10, lift $9^{\mathrm{th}}$ stitch over ${10}^{\mathrm{th}}$ now lift the $8^{\mathrm{th}}\,{\mathrm{st}},7^{\mathrm{th}}$ st, $6^{\mathrm{th}}$ t’ $5^{\mathrm{th}}$ t: $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ st over the ${10}^{\mathrm{th}}$ stitch\* You now have 4 stitches left on the right needle. Rep between $^{**}$ around socks. You will end up with 64 stitches at the end of this round. Row 2: knit Now you will work a k1, p1 ribbing for $1^{\circ}$ Leg: Work the chart for leg pattern. Repeat to desired length.

HEEL FLAP:
Worked on 32sts (needle 1) Row 1: $^{*}{S}11$ purlwise, $\mathrm{k}1^{*}$ , repeat from \* to end Row 2: Sl 1 purlwise, P to end. Repeat these 2 rows until you have 32 heel flap rows or 16 slip stitches on sides of heel flap. Heel flap should almost be square. TURN HEEL: Note: SI $\mid1=\mathbf{sl\,1}$ purlwise Row 1: Sl 1, k18, ssk, k1. Turn Row 2: Sl1, p5, p2tog, pl. Turn Row 3: Sl1, k6, ssk, k1. Turn Row 4: Sl1, p7, p2tog, pl. HEEL GUSSET:
Needle 1: Knit across heel flap. Then pick up and knit 16sts along side of heel flap plus 1 stitch in the gusset corner to avoid hole. (17sts). Needle 2: Knit across 32 instep stitches in chart pattern. (Note: You I used the chart pattern to go down the instep on foot but only did rows 1-6. I did not want the cable on the foot.) Needle 1: Pick up and knit 16sts along other side of heel plus 1 stitch in the gusset corner to avoid hole. (17sts). Knit remaining stitches to the end of needle 1. Needle 2: Knit across 32 instep stitches in chart pattern.
Decrease round:
Rnd 1: Needle 1: k1, sk, work to last 3sts k2tog, k1. Needle 2: keep in instep pattern Rnd 2: Needle 1: Knit Needle 2: keep in instep pattern Repeat these 2 rounds until you have 64 total stitches remaining (32 on each needle)

Directions for Kitchener Stitch:
Hold the needles, with one behind the other and wrong sides together. Thread your yarn needle with long tail from sock. 1. Insert the yarn needle as if to purl the first stitch on the front needle, leaving it on the sock needle. 2. Insert the yarn needle as if to knit the first stitch on the back needle, leaving it on the sock needle. 3. Insert the yarn needle as if to knit the first stitch on the front needle and slip off the sock needle. 4. Insert the yarn needle as if to purl the next stitch on the front needle and leave on the sock needle. 5. Insert the yarn needle as if to purl the first stitch on the back needle and slip off the sock needle. 6. Insert the yarn needle in the next stitch on the back needle and leave on the sock needle. Repeat 3-6 until all stitches are worked off the sock needles.
