
Knit Pattern Geometric Teether by Erika Nazario

Materials:
Yarn: 100% Wool Worsted weight such as Knit Picks Wool of Andes, Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool - Takes less than 30 yards Needles: size 10 US(6 mm) Double point Needles Set of 4 (you will only use 2) Tapestry Needle Crochet Hook Crinkle paper - Optional - Piece of plastic like from travel wipe bag or potato chip bags. This pattern is for knitting a teether with a few Links in a circular, triangular and square shape. Designed to use up your Leftover yarns because the Links only take less than 30 yards depending in how many Links you would Like to knit. Include instructions to create a Link with crinkle paper that will catch baby's attention and curiosity.
Instructions:
All Shapes:
Using Provisional Cast On and different yarn (waste yarn), cast on 8 stitches. Knit using I-cord method.
Circular Shape Link:
Knit using I-cord method until measures 8" (20.3 cm). Cut yarn leaving a tail of 12" (30.5 cm) for closing both ends together with Kitchener stitch. \* Remove yarn from cast on and put stitches on a needle. Connect both ends together using Kitchener stitch. Note: Before closing the Link, if you have more Links, put together so it looks Like a chain.

Square Shape Link:
Knit using I-cord method until measures 10" (25.4 cm). Cut yarn leaving a tail of 12" (30.5 cm) for closing both ends together with Kitchener stitch. \* Remove yarn from cast on and put stitches on a needle. Connect both ends together using Kitchener stitch. Note: Before closing the Link, if you have more Links, put together so it Looks Like a chain. Make a square - Take the circle fold it in half, With a tapestry needle and yarn, sew a few stitches on one corner(A) where the fold is, make a knot to secure the fold. See Figure 1 Repeat in other corner/fold(B). Now you will have two opposite corners of the square (A and B). Match those corners in the middle, and sew the other two corners(C and D) following instructions above. Weave ends inside. When finished it would look like Figure 2.


Triangle Shape Link:
Knit using I-cord method until measures 9" (22.8 cm). Cut yarn leaving a tail of 12" (30.5 cm) for closing both ends together with Kitchener stitch. \*

Note: Before closing the Link, if you have more Links, put together so it looks Like a chain. Make a triangle - Take the circle fold it in half, With a tapestry needle and yarn, sew a few stitches on one corner(E)where the fold is, make a knot to secure the fold. See Figure 3 From the corner(E) already made, measure 3"(76mm) and fold again. Sew a few stitches where the new fold/corner(F) is, make a knot to secure the fold. Now you will have two corners of the triangle (E and F). For third corner(G), measure 3"(76 mm) from eithercorner(E or F) and fold. Repeat sewing instructions. Weave ends inside. When finished it would look like Figure 4.

All Shapes:
After finishing knitting and putting together the shapes, felt the links or chain. \*Crinkle paper- Before closing link Cut a small stripe [1/2"(12 mm) wide and 6"(15.2 cm) 1ong approx.]with scissors make a small hole in one end. Using a crochet needle, pick up the crinkle paper (using the hole that was cut), from one side of the link to another. Crinkle paper is easier to use with the Circular link. Close link. See Figure 5
