Baby Pi Sweater

Size: 9-12mths Materials: 400 yds worsted weight yarn, weights, sewing needle, 55 needles, size 8 36" circular needle, latch tool Gauge: 4.25 sts and 6.29 rws $=$ 1" using keyplate 3 Technique Used: Short rowing, crochet cast on, hand knitting
Pattern:
BODY: Starting from the right, close cast on 55 sts. $^{\star}\mathtt{C O L}$ knit 1 row. COR. Pull 1st 2 needles on left edge to NWP. Knit 2 rows. COR. Pull next 2 needles to NWP (4 sts now out of work). Knit 2 rows. COR. Continue the pattern as established until last 2 sts have been worked and COR (row 59). Pull al needles in WP. Knit 1 row. COL.\* This is your first wedge. Repeat from \* to \* 3 more times. Armhole Wedge: Work establish wedge pattern to row 11 (COR). Pull out needles numbered 18 - 36 into NWP (don't forget your 2 edges sts). Slowly knit row to the non working needles. Bind off these stitches with working yarn, sliping the right stitch onto the left needle and knitting them together with the working yarn. Repeat until al the non working needles are empty (19sts). Knit across the remainer of the row. Next row, knit to needle 18, then crochet cast on to needle 36. Knit remainder of row. COR. Add extra weights to new cast on stitches, dec the next set of edge sts continuing with wedge pattern to the end. Knit 2 more wedges and repeat Armhole wedge for final wedge. COL, cast off all stitches. Stitch open edge of pi together. SLEEVEs: Open cast on with waste yarn 28 sts. \*Knit 6 rows. Decrease 1 st each edge\*. Repeat from \* to $^{\star}5$ more times. Knit 2 rws (total 62 rows). Cast off. Rehang sleeve from CO edge knit 12 rows. Reform stitches to form k2p2 rib. Cast off loosely. Repeat for second sleeve. FINISHING: Sew sleeve inseam. Sew sleeves to sweater. Pickup 40 sts/wedge for edge finishing. Knit your favorite edging, I used seed stitch for 4 rows. Weave in ends. I have tested this pattem, however, mistakes do get by.
