Dewdrops Lariat Knitting Pattern: A Beaded Garter Stitch Design with Customizable Length and Beading Intervals

Dewdrops Lariat

by knittimo This lariat is knitted in garter stitch with pre-strung beads. Fingering or sport wt. yarn and size 6 round seed beads are recommended. Beads should be smoothly strung onto yarn. Choose needle size suitable for the yarn. Beading intervals and width/length are totally up to you. Written below is an example.

Directions:

Using a sewing or beading needle and thread, string all beads onto yarn. Cast on 8 stitches. (If you want to change CO number and place beads in the middle, make it an even number.) Work in garter stitch, slipping the i't stitch of each row knitwise. Every 6 rows, place a bead: knit 4 stitches (=to the middle point), slide a bead next to the stitch just knitted, knit the rest. (Bead sits in the middle of the other side of the row.) Work to desired length or a little shorter if you block later. (Sample piece was knitted to 110cm and blocked to 125cm.) Bind off. Weave in ends. Block (optional). Enjoy!
