Bougainvillea Coffee Cup Cozy Angela Bliss
A simple pattern to practice stranded knitting (fair-isle) in the round.

Finished Size
Diameter when flat = 4.5", height = 4". Intended to fit a 12 to 16 oz. paper coffee cup.
Materials
3 skeins Nature Spun Sport by Brown Sheep Co. Sample uses: 一 MC: Grey Heather, CC 1: Limestone, CC 2: Bougainvillea Set of Us 6 [4.0 mm] double pointed needles. or size needed to obtain gauge Set of Us 4 [3.5 mm] double pointed needles Tapestry Needle Scissors
Gauge
6 sts and 6 rnds = 1" measured over stockinette stitch in colorwork pattern worked in the round
Abreviations
CC - contrast color CO-cast on K - knit MC - main color P-purl Rnd(s) -round(s) St(s) - stitch(es)
Pattern
Using smaller needles and MC, CO 52 sts. Distribute stitches evenly over double pointed needles and join in the round, being careful not to twist. Set up rounds: Rnds 1-6: Work in K1, P1 ribbing. Change to larger needles. Rnd 7: K across all sts. Begin colorwork chart: Rnd 8: Using MC and CC 1, work rnd 1 of the colorwork chart, repeating to end of rnd (13 repeats total). Rnds 9-25: Continue working the colorwork chart through rnd 14 (changing colors as charted), then repeat rnds 1-4 once.

Finishing rounds: Break CC yarn and continue working in MC only. Rnd 26: K across all sts.
Chart Key
Change to smaller needles. Rnds 27-32: Work 6 rnds K1, P1 ribbing. Bind off all sts loosely in pattern. To finish: Weave in ends. wet block to even out stitches and lay flat to dry. Enjoy!
Notes
Be sure to maintain color dominance when working the stranded colorwork chart and keep your floats loose. I recommend breaking the working CC yarn and leaving a 4-5" tail to weave in each time you switch the CC.
