Begin Cast on 3 stitches and knit 2 rows. On the next row (right side), knit 1, do a "yarn over" (by wrapping your working yarn over your right hand needle. On the following row (wrong side) knit until you reach your yarn over and insert your needle into the loop from right to left and knit it. This way you twist the stitch and no hole will appear.
