Sizing: One Size - to fit a women's medium hand
Materials:
Yarn: Worsted Weight Yarn, approximately 90 yards Samples shown in: Kollage Yarns Fantastic (top photo) [100% Merino Wool; 93 yds/85m per 50g skein]; color: English Manor #7519; 1 skein Mission Falls 1824 Wool (bottom photo) [100% Merino Wool; 85 yds/78m per 50g skein]; color: #14; 1 skein Needles: US Size 8/5mm, double pointed needles (or size needed to get gauge) Notions: stitch markers, waste yarn and a tapestry needle Gauge: 24 sts/28 rows = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch

Pattern Note:
Mitts are worked in the round using dpns. The Chevron Rib Pattern is on back side of the hand, with a stockinette stitch palm and thumb. Stitches are increased for the thumb gusset and then these stitches are placed on wasteyarntobeworked afterthemittenbodyiscomplete.
Chevron Rib Pattern:
Round 1: K2, \*K2tog, YO, K1, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, K2, repeat from \* to end. Round 2: Knit all stitches Round 3: K1, \*K2tog, YO, K3, YO, Sl1, K1, PSSO, repeat from \* to last st, K1 Round 4:Knit all stitches
Cast on and Cuff Instructions:
CO 30 sts. Place marker and join to work in the round being careful not to twist sts. Work 14 rounds in twisted ribbing: (K1tbl, P1) to end of round.
Right Mitt:
Next Round: Knit 16 sts, PM, knit to end. Round 1: Work Round 1 of Chevron Rib Pattern over first 16 sts, SM, knit to end. Round 2: knit all stitches Round 3: Work Round 3 of Chevron Rib Pattern over first 16 sts, SM, knit to end. Round 4: knit all stitches Round 5: Work Round 1 of Chevron Rib Pattern over first 16 sts, SM, M1L, K2, M1R, PM, knit to end. Round 6: knit all stitches Round 7: Work Round 3 of Chevron Rib Pattern over first 16 sts, SM, M1L, knit to marker, M1R, SM, knit to end. Round 8: knit all stitches Repeat Rounds 5-8 increasing for the thumb on Rounds 5 & 7 until you have 12 stitches between the markers. Work Round 6. On Round 7 when you get to the thumb gusset move the 12 thumb stitches to waste yarn. Using the backward loop CO method CO 2 sts and continue in pattern as established. Work Round 8. Work Rounds 1-4 three more times or to desired length. Work 4 rounds in twisted ribbing: (K1tbl, P1) around. BO in ribbing.
Left Mitt:
For the left mitt repeat the Cast On and Cuff Instructions then work as follows: Next Round: K14 sts, PM, knit to end. Round 1: K14, SM, work Round 1 of Chevron Rib Pattern to end. Round 2: knit all stitches Round 3: K14, SM, work Round 3 of Chevron Rib Pattern to end. Round 4: knit all stitches Round 5: K12, PM, M1L, K2, M1R, SM, work Round 1 of Chevron Rib Pattern to end. Round 6: knit all stitches Round 7: knit to marker, SM, M1L, knit to marker, M1R, SM, work Round 3 of Chevron Rib Pattern to end. Round 8: knit all stitches Repeat Rounds 5-8 increasing for the thumb on Rounds 5 & 7 until you have 12 stitches between the markers. Work Round 6. On Round 7 when you get to the thumb gusset move the 12 thumb stitches to waste yarn. Using the backward loop CO method CO 2 sts and continue in pattern as established. Work Round 8.

Thumb:
Move stitches from waste yarn onto two dpns. Round 1: Knit all stitches. When you get to the gap, pick up and knit 4 sts onto a third dpn. - 16 sts. Round 2-4: Knit all stitches Work 3 rounds in twisted ribbing: (K1tbl, P1) around. BO in ribbing.
Finishing:
lightly block and weave in ends
