Whenever I'm riding with my friends, my hands always get cold. I decided that I really needed to make up a set of fingerless gloves to wear underneath them. And here they are. Cast on 62 sts onto either 3 DPNS or circular needle and join in round.
FOREARM SHAPING:
Knit 40 rows (including cast on). Decrease 10 sts evenly. 52 sts. Knit 30 rows (including decrease row). Decrease 10 sts evenly. 42 sts. Knit 20 rows (including decrease row). Increase 6sts evenly. 48 sts.
THUMB GUSSET:
PM. $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ row: P1. (Inc 1 st in next st) twice. P1. Knit to marker. Next 4 rows: Knit all knit sts and purl all purl sts. Next row: P1. Inc 1 st in next st. Kto 2 sts before the next P. Inc 1 st in next st. K1 P1. Knit to marker. \*\* Next 2 rows: Knit all knit sts and purl all purl sts. Next row: Inc 1 st in next st. Kto 2 sts before the next P. Inc 1 st in next st. K1 P1. Knit to marker. \*\* Repeat from \*\* to \*\* until there are 14 sts between the two P. 60sts. Next 2 rows: Knit all knit sts and purl all purl sts. Next row: Turn. Cast on 4 sts. Turn. Slip the next 16 sts onto a stitch holder or thread and leave for thumb. Knit to marker. 48 sts.
PALM:
Change to smaller needles. Knit 15 rows. FINGERS (THUMB CAN BE DONE PRIOR TO THE 1ST FINGER IF DESIRED): 1ST FINGER: (Using DPNs) Knit first 5 sts. Slip all but last 9 sts onto waste yarn. Turn. Cast on 2 sts. Turn. Knit last 9 sts. Divide these 16 sts onto 3 needles. Join in round.

With DPNs, knit first 5 sts. Leave remaining yarn on circulars, slipping the last 9 sts onto a spare DPN. Turn Cast on 2 sts. Turn. Knit last 9 sts from DPN. Divide these 16 sts onto 3 needles. Join in round. (Continuing) Knit 8 rows. Cast off.
2ND FINGER:
(Using DPNs) Slip next 6 sts from waste yarn onto DPN and knit. Turn. Cast on 2 sts. Turn. Slip last 6 sts from waste yarn onto DPN and knit. Pick up and knit 2 sts at the base of $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ finger. Divide these 16 sts onto 3 needles. Join in round. (Using Circulars) With DPNs, knit next 6 sts. Leave remaining yarn on circulars, slipping the last 6 sts onto a spare DPN. Turn Cast on 2 sts. Turn. Knit last 6 sts from DPN. Pick up and knit 2 sts at the base of $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ finger. Divide these 16 sts onto 3 needles. Join in round. (Continuing) Knit 8 rows. Cast off. 3RD FINGER: (Using DPNs) Slip next 6 sts from waste yarn onto DPN and knit. Turn. Cast on 2 sts. Turn. Slip last 6 sts from waste yarn onto DPN and knit. Pick up and knit 2 sts at the base of $2^{\mathsf{n d}}$ finger. Divide these 16 sts onto 3 needles. Join in round.
(Using Circulars)
With DPNs, knit next 6 sts. Leave remaining yarn on circulars, slipping the last 6 sts onto a spare DPN. Turn Cast on 2 sts. Turn. Knit last 6 sts from DPN. Pick up and knit 2 sts at the base of $2^{\mathsf{n d}}$ finger. Divide these 16 sts onto 3 needles. Join in round. Knit 8 rows. Cast off.
4TH FINGER:
(Using DPNs)
Slip the last 10 sts from waste yarn onto DPN and knit. Pick up and knit 2 sts at the base of $3^{r\mathsf{d}}$ finger. Divide these 12 sts onto 3 needles. Join in round.
(Using Circulars)
With DPNs, knit the last 10 sts. Pick up and knit 2 sts at the base of $3^{\mathsf{r d}}$ finger. Divide these 12 sts onto 3 needles. Join in round. Knit 6 rows. Cast off. THUMB: Slip the 16 sts left for thumb onto DPNs and knit. Pick up 4 sts at the base of thumb. Divide these 20 sts onto 3 needles. Join in round. Knit 8 rows. Cast off. ENJOY :D
