Special Stitches

Foundation Double Crochet — FDC: Chain 3, yo, insert hook into the second chain from the hook. This is the first chain you made. Pull up a loop, yo, pull through one loop — chain stitch made. YO, pull through two loops, yo, pull through remaining two loops — DC made. \*YO, insert your hook into the chain you just made. Pull up a loop, yo, pull through one loop — chain stitch made. YO, pull through two loops, yo, pull through remaining two loops - DC made. Repeat from \* until you have the instructed number of stitches. V Stitch —- V ST: In the designated stitch or chain space work a (double crochet, chain 1, double crochet).

FDC 15 — Alternate Instructions: Ch 18, dc in the fourth ch from the hook and each ch across.(15 dc) Row 1: Ch 3 (counts as a dc here and throughout), turn. \*Skip the next stitch, V st in the following stitch. Repeat from the \* 5 times. Skip the next stitch, dc in the last stitch. —- 2 dc, 6 Vst Row 2: Ch 3, turn. V st in the ch space of each V st of the previous row. DC in the last stitch. -2 dc,6 Vst Rows 3 - 21: Repeat row 2. — 2 dc, 6 V st per row Row 22: Do not ch. Turn your work, ss in the dc only of the first two V stitches of row 21 (4 ss total). Ch 3, V st in the ch space of the next 2 V stitches of row 21. DC in the next DC. — 4 ss, 2 dc, 2 V st Row 23: Ch 3, turn. V st in the ch space of each V st of the previous row. DC in the last stitch. -2 dc,2 V st Rows 24 - 28: Repeat row 23. — 2 dc, 2 V st per row Row 29: Ch 1, turn. SC in each dc across. Do not work in any chain 1 spaces. Fasten off. — 6 SC Vanna's Choice has 4 smaller strands that make up the large strand you've been working with, split a foot of the yarn so that you have 2 smaller strands. Use these 2 strands and a regular sewing needle to sew your button onto row 2.
