To Knit While Bored
Materials: 1 skein each of CoBaSi by Hikoo in 35 Turkish Coffee (with two sugars) and 3Natural Or any fingering weight yarn that gives to the required gauge. I don't care what you do. US 1 or 2 needles (Use DPNs, Magic loop, or a 9 inch circular.) Gauge: 8 sts/inch in "The Wallpaper Had it Coming" Chart

Ribbing
CO 72 sts in MC, PM at beginning of round. Work k1 p1rib until piece measures 4.5 cm from CO.
Leg Work
Work "The Wallpaper Had it Coming" chart for 5 inches or desired length. (Note: Unless you're Anderson and are too stupid to comprehend these instructions, please start on line 13 of the chart.) Work “Bored" chart. Here you can either work the chart twice for one “Bored" on the front and one on back, or simply knit 32 stitches in white around the back. /allpaper Had it Coming" chart for 2 1/2 more inches or desired length.
Heel flap
Remove marker, place the next 36 sts onto a holder, and turn work. (36 sts on needles, 36stsonholder) (lf you are new to color charts and "floats" and other such interesting things, ignore the next bit and INSTEAD, simply repeat these two rows in either color 16 times. Row 1: sl 1, knit 35 Row 2: sl1,purl 35 Stop when you have 32 rows. That means you, Anderson. I won't have you making a mess of mysocks.) The aforementioned "next bit": Now reading the chart from left to right on purl rows and right to left on knit rows, and keeping your floats in the front, continue the “Wallpaper" chart for 32 rows. (lf you slip the first stitch of each row, you will thank me later.) Turn Heel Row 1: Sl1, k20, ssk, k1, turn work Row 2: Sl1, p 7, p2tog, p1, turn work Row 3: Sl1, knit to one stitch before the gap created by the previous row, ssk (one stitch from either side of the gap), k1, turn work Row 4: Sl1, purl to one stitch before the gap created in row 3, p2tog (one from each side of the gap again), p1, turn work at Rows 3 and 4 until all sts have been worked (22 heel sts will remain Pick-up for Gusset K11, PM for beginning of round, k11 and pick up 18 sts from the right edge of the heel flap (if you slipped the first stitches, as I told you, 17 will be perfectly visible and simple to slip. The 18th stitch should come from the ladder between the stitches still on a holder and the beginning of the heel flap.) PM to mark the right side of the foot. Remove sts from holder and knit across them, continuing the "Wallpaper" chart where you left off. Pick up and knit 18 stitches (This time, the first stitch you pick up should come from the ladder between the heel flap and the stitch you've just knitted. The other 17 will again be slipped stitches from the heel flap.) 94 sts
Gusset
Round 1: Knit in “Speckles" chart to 2 sts before right marker, k2tog, continue "wallpaper" chart across the top of the foot, SM, ssk, knit in “Speckles" chart to the end of the round. (2 stitches decreased. Obviously.) Round 2: Knit in "Speckles" chart to right marker, continue "Wallpaper" chart across the top of the foot, SM, resume “Speckles" to the end of the round. Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until 72 total sts remain. (11 repeats.) Foot Continue working the “Speckles" chart for the bottom of the foot and "The Wallpaper Had It Coming" for the top until the foot measures 2 inches shorter than your desired length. Remove the M for beginning of round and knit to right M. This will be the new beginning of the round. Leaving about 12 inches of tail, cut MC yarn. Toe Round 1: In CC, knit Round 2: K1, ssk, knit to 3 sts before left M, k2tog, k1, SM, k1, ssk, knit to 3 sts before right M, k2tog, k1 (4 stitches decreased. How dull.) Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until 32 sts remain (10 repeats) Then repeat round 2 until 20 sts remain (3 rows) Divide the sts from the top and bottom of the foot evenly onto 2 straight or double pointed needles and cut CC yarn, leaving a 12" tail. the tail onto a tapestry needle and use Kitchener stitch to graft the toe. Weave in all ends. If you're stil bored, you may wish to embroider the same yellow detail that graces the living room wall of 221b somewhere on your completed sock.
