Materials: Approx 400 yds finger wt yarn size 1 needle, or size to obtain gauge Darning needle scissors Techniques: Knit in the round ktog, ssk, yo, m1l, m1R chart reading ong tail cast on Gauge $=$ 8-8.5 spi Toe: will be constructed using the star toe method. CO 6 stitches using the long tail cast on making sure to leave about 6" of tail, 3st on each needle if using 2 circ of ML method. Knit 1 round using both the working yarn and tail yarn, you will now have 12 loops on theneedles. Next round knit into each loop creating 12 individual stitches. Begin working increases assuch: R3: KFB, k3\* R4: knit continue increasing adding one more stitch between KFB section until you have 64 stitches total. For a less pointy toe you can increase EVERY round for the total of 5-6 rnds and then increase every other round. Knit foot until it measures approximately 2" less than the total foot length. Heel: Knit across needle 1 K1, m1, knit to last 2 stitches m1, K1 on needle 2 Next round knit all stitches. Continue increasing every other round on needle 2 until you have a total of 56 st on the needle. Knit across needle one, on needle 2 knit 23, pm knit to end. Now you will begin the heel turn shaping section as follows after knitting across needle 1: Knit to 2 stitches beyond the marker. k2tog, k1, turn. Pullthe yarn tight. Slip 1 purlwise. Purl to 2 stitches beyond the marker, SSP, p1, turn. Pull the yarn tight SSP: Slip 2 stitches knitwise. Move them back to the LH needle and purl them together through the back loop. Or just work a P2 together if you would rather. Turn. Slip 1, knit back to the gap, knit the stitch before and after the gap together. Knit 1. Turn. Slip 1, purl back to the gap, purl the stitch before and after the gap together. Purl 1. Repeat these two rows until you have one stitch left on each side. Note: to close up holes that can develop at the heel/top of foot join pick up and knit 1 stitch at each side. DO NOT DECREASE THESE STITCHES. You will now have 66 stitches total, 33 per needle. Begin working in the round again for 2 rows then follow chart for the rest of the sock leg. Leg should measure approx 5.5" before beginning rib sequence as follows for 1.5" or until sock measures 7" \*p1 [k3, p3, k3, p2] x2 k3, p3, k3, p1\* BO using your favorite stretchy bind off.
