Scribble Socks

These socks are good for beginning knitters. But I don't give the instructions for the heel and toe. Every sock knitter has their favourite heel and toe and you can knit them into this pattern. So if you are a beginner sock knitter, keep a basic pattern nearby to knit the heel and toe.
Material:
1 skein of fingering weight sock yarn (420 meters, 100 grams) dpns 2,5 mm tapestry needle 1 stitch marker
Abbreviations:
ssk = slip two stitches individually as if to knit, put them back on the left needle and knit them together through the back loop M1R = pick up the bar between the needles from the back and knit M1L = pick up the bar between the needles from the front and knit through the back loop k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
Intructions:
Left Sock
Cuff and Leg:
CO 60 sts and start working in the round p2k2 for 16 rounds rearrange the sts so you have 20 sts on two needles and 10 sts on the other needles set up row = patterned row ssk, k8, M1R ssk, p2 k2 p2 k2, M1R ssk, k8 M, M1R ssk, p2 k2 p2 k2, M1R ssk, k8, M1R ssk, p2 k2 p2 k2, M1R rest row: knit all the sts as they appear (= knit the knit sts, purl the purl sts)
Pattern:
Repeat the patterned row and the rest row to create the pattern. > Incorporate the new stitches into the k2p2 pattern! Knit 60 rounds in pattern. Heel: Knit your favourite heel.
Foot and Sole:
The pattern expires on the foot. There is no pattern near and on the toe. The solre is knit in stockinette.
Foot:
Set up row: M1R, pM, ssk, p2 k2 p2 k2, M1R, ssk, k8, M1R, ssk, p2 k2 p2 k2 knit 1 rest row patterned row: knit to marker, slip marker, ssk → continue in established pattern Repeat the rest row and patterned row until the marker drops off the needle on the left side of the foot. Continue in stockinette until you reach the desired length of the foot.
Toe:
Knit your favourite toe.
Right Sock
Cuff and Leg:

Weave in all ends wash block or let dry flat The pattern makes the sock smaller than they really are. But it's very stretchy.
Sizeing up or down:
Each pattern repeat is knit over 20 stitches. So, if you want to knit the socks for a large man' s foot, you have to Co 80 stitches. For a baby or small child CO 40 stitches.
