By Lisa Mutch Materials: Approx. 3oo yards of The Uncommon Thread Shetland Fingering or other heavy fingering-light sport weight yarn. Size US 6 (4 mm) circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge) Stitchmarker Tapestryneedle GauGe: 5 sts=1" in stockinette stitch FIniSHeD MeasuremenTs: Circumference=40" Height=10" ABBreVIaTIOnS USeD: K=Knit P=Purl St(s)=Stitch(es) Pm=Place marker Sm=Slip marker Yo=Yarn over K2tog=Knit two stitches together Ssk=Slip, slip, knit slipped stitches together

DIrecTIOnS:

Cast on 16o sts. Pm and join to work in the round, careful to not twist sts. Round 1: \*Ssk, yo, yo, k2tog; Repeat from \* to end of round. Round 2:\*K2, p1, k1; Repeat from \* to end of round. Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until cowl measures 1o" from cast on edge, or until desired size. Bind off all sts loosely, knitwise.
